i recently had a large hole welded in a cr500 casing. They are £350 each to buy. welding cost £50 and they did a great job :)

eerr no.. that headlight is rather pathetic.
Ill be installing one of the full hid set ups i sell in a new h4 bulb headlight and hid spotlight, with hid helmet light.

Run that set up on the 1150gs when i do night time offroading on that and it works a treat.

Ah HA problem solved. In the process of changing the subframe (now nicely painted) i noticed the carb seemed a bit wibbly wobbly on the inlet manifold. So checked.. and the metal clip (god knows what its called but similar to the principle of a hose clip) holding it on had failed. So it was leaking ...

thought as such, i dont put it on when its warm lol... that would be stoopid :P but when cold , id put it on choke, itll start first kick... tick over.. then suddenly after about 30 secs or so.. itll start revving quite high ... in the region of 4000 rpms or so... flick the choke off and itll go awa...

mk3 choke rpms
picked up my new bike last friday and have to admit i love it much more than my last mk2. One thing though, my mk2 used to run "chokey" when the choke was on.. but this mk3 starts to rev its nuts off when its warmed up and the chokes on, soon as its flicked off again it settles down again. Air leak?...
