Re: CRM mk2 stolen in Brighton
Very sorry to hear about the theft, I hope you get it back. I'm in Brighton, I'll keep my eyes and ears open, and let you know if I hear or see anything.

Re: Recovering a seat
I have recovered bike seats using a flooring stapler (are you friendly with any carpet fitters?), I had no problem with doing it using one of those staplers, a tip is to heat up the cover first, which will make it more plyable, and easier to stretch, and when it cools down it will shrink back and ti...

Re: Strange faulty lights?
Hi Capt, from what you have described, and the fact all the electrical parts you have changed, are just plug in connectors, I would say you have an earth problem. This would give all the symptoms you describe, as switching on different things on the bike, gives different earth back paths, which woul...

Re: wierd problem??
Hi Josh Have you checked the kill switch and sidestand switch, as these a wired into the circuit, prior to the coil, so if one of these is playing up you will get a low reading at the coil. As the bike was running ok previously I would suspect the kill switch or sidestand switch, I would also check ...

Crank Shaft Seals
Hi all I have stripped my engine down, but I have not split the crank cases. I have removed clutch, flywheel ect, to replace water pump shaft. I can clearly see the crank seals, is it possible to hook them out and replace them without splitting the crank cases? I have a new pair of seals and would l...

Re: Rear Brake has no pressure
Hi Westy My CRM had a similar problem when I got it, no pressure at caliper, and no sign of leaks. When I took it apart I found the plunger in the master cylinder had stuck in the brake on position at the top of the cylinder, so it would not pump any fluid to the caliper, but the brake lever would s...

Re: Setting up my mk3
Thanks for the advice colinthum, I,ve got it running ok at the moment, but not brilliant, what jets are you using, and what are your needle position and air screw setting. I have removed the snorkle from the air box, but have not drilled any holes in it. It seems to run better with a standard plug i...

Setting up my mk3
Hi all Been playing around with the carb settings on my mk3 today, but there is a couple of strange things going on with it! The air/mixture screw doesn't seem to make any difference to the running of the bike, you can wind it fully in or out and the bike will still tick over and run the same. The b...

Re: Mk3 Flatspot
Thanks for all the advice guys, all taken on board. Went out today and attemped a plug chop (christ them chrome Dep's get hot !). The electrode seemed biscuit brown, but the rest of the plug seemed very "sooty". I will try and post some pics up of the plug - Second and third opinions are very valued...

Got mine from Hel Performance, they come come with all the washers and new banjo bolts you need, cost about £26 and were delivered in a couple of days.

Re: Mk3 Flatspot
Thanks FMTB I will give it a go when I get a chance. I read on here how to do a plug chop, but I can't find it now. I understand plenty of throttle for about 5 mins, then kill engine, pull in clutch, pull over and whip the plug out. I am unsure of what the different conditions of the plug means, and...

If I can't sort it before you get back, I will take you up on that, and pop it over.
Thanks

Re: Mk3 Flatspot
Thanks Knackered
Any ideas where to start, shall I get the next couple of jet sizes up and just trial and error, or shall I start with the main needle first ?
I have checked the power valve and that is moving freely and is set up as per manual.
Thanks
