Hole In Engine

Well i gave the bike a real good thrashing last weekend and suddenly all came to a sudden stop. When i looked at the front of the engine there is a hole the size of a 50p piece where the two sides of the engine meet at the bottom. Dont know if it blew from the inside or something flew up and smashed...

Re: spray painting help

Check the top coat paint. Often gloss paint doesnt require a laquer and when its applied the original colour will change and do the oppoiste to what its supposed to do. I sprayed my tank a year ago with white gloss no laquer and it is still really white. Also you get what you pay for with paint. i h...

Re: DIY Halogen Lights - Let There be Light!!

The bulbs are 12v Low voltage so they work fine off the bikes electrical system. You are right about the heat particularly if using 50 watt bulbs. They get very hot at the back hence you must use the proper ceramic connectors. I am going to experiment with the bulbs as at present I have two wide ang...

DIY Halogen Lights - Let There be Light!!

As the winter nights are here I still needed to get out for a quick blast after a hard day at the office. I have made and fitted a set of 50 watt halogen lights that fit onto the handlebars. When i flick on full beam its like riding in daylight. They are really easy to make and cost no more than £8....

Section 59 Warnings

I have posted a reply to an earlier forum but thought this needed its own. Section 59 Warnings are bad news. In this nanny state that we live there is the potential for many of us to have our bikes seized by the police. I am a criminal lawyer and will be looking into this piece of legislation a bit ...

Re: help please

Thanks for the tip about the oil pump. I have had engine rebuilt recently, before pre mix days. I queried the oil pump running dry if not used and the guy who rebuilds two stroke race engines had a good look and reliably informed me that it wont sieze as the two stroke oil does not act as a lubrican...

Re: help please

The oil pump is eay to check. On the right hand side of the engine is the two stroke oil pump. There is a plastic cover which comes off very easily with two screws. You will see that there is a inlet and outlet pipe. The inlet pipe comes from the bike frame near to the radiator. The other pipe runs ...
