Re: MK2 removing engine from frame - odd size washer

If the spindle is tight going back in , you may find that loosening the other engine retaining bolts helps

Re: Ah well time on my balance shaft i think

"the theory about the oil change from mineral to semi synth might well be correct if enough mineral oil was still hanging about in the gearbox to create an emulsion when mixed with synth oil, I.M.O." You wont get any emulsion mixing mineral with semi or full for that matter as they will all be compa...

Ktm200 nice bikes, but you'd regret selling the CRM for one I reckon ... More of a hare and hounds than a green laner.

Re: Running rich, fouling plug.

I found cillit bang and a toothbrush quite good for cleaning carbs and jets believe it or not .... Also, modern fuels with ethanol in them don't have a long shelf life, you'll find new fuel works wonders itself !

Re: CRM 250 mk3 ? mk2 purchased unseen.

Looks like it could be a standard mk1 exhaust that's been chrome or nickel plated, the cover has the plastic bit missing out of it ?

Interesting choice of back wheel

Re: Recovering a seat

Interestingly I bought one of those cheap staplers for a fiver from a discount shop this week I tried it out on my seat as it had some ropey stapling from the previous owner fitting a new seat cover and I was quite impressed at how good it was, like Knackered says, you may have to use a pin hammer t...

Re: 2 stroke and gearbox oil

[quote="garyd"]An engine cannot run on air alone ,therefore when you shut the throttle on a premix bike there MUST be fuel still entering the engine (tickover/slow running circuit)as the oil is mixed with the fuel initially this is why the engines dont sieze due to that theory ,think about it ,if it...

Re: watery lookin oil?!!

Just to stick my oily nose in - doesn't take much water ( about 0.3% ) to make the oil cloudy - anything above 0.5% will drop out and you'll see the water at the bottom of the jar ( if you enmpty the oil into a jar and leave it ) My CRM got some water in through the gearbox breather I think after so...

[quote="Jeram"]just found out the following, which contradicts my earlier post in this topic... all two stroke premix oil including castor/synthetic blends (The best oil you can buy) can be used in oil injection system. Sorry but that is complete B******s ... and a sure way of needing a new piston a...

Re: Supermoto speedo

do you know anyone with a sat nav ? - I plan on using one, taping it somewhere and just seeing where the speedo is when I get to 30, 50, 70 etc on the sat nav as they are supposed to be quite accurate and marking it on the speedo with a yellow line ... when I get the XR rebuilt ..:o)
