Re: Sheared clamp bolt on fork leg nightmare

125 forks? The only 125 forks i've seen were all right way up not USD. I'm about 9st so some softer forks would be a great upgrade if the right price. The suspension feels quite tired both ends to be honest. I actually stiffened rear preload to about 1inch from the end of adjustment.

Just thought i'd give you guys a giggle - a few years ago i had an xj400z stolen from outside my house. It was a total pig to ride partly due to the bent frame so when tackling a right-hander at anything over 50mph it got a deadly headshake that would turn into a tankslapper if you didn't back off. ...

Re: Sheared clamp bolt on fork leg nightmare

Yeah, I had to replace the front disc and when i put it all back together, there was a 5mm gap between the speedo drive and the fork leg. My first thought was that i'd lost a spacer but when i phoned leisuretrail they said it didn't have one on that side so i gave it all a good check and when lookin...

Re: Hello all!

Yeah the knobblies are sketchy on the road too. Had a few road bikes but this is my first foray into the off road world. Wanted something i could learn some home maintenance and have a bit of fun on (and fall off) without too much fear of cars/drains/mud/expensive repairs/lack of ability etc etc. Go...

Sheared clamp bolt on fork leg nightmare

So i did the dumbest thing, i know. Now i need to work out how to solve this dilemma. Can i drill out the bolt and tap the hole, or is a new set of forks the only way out of this mess? If the later, are there any easier to source forks that drop straight in or am i doomed to trawling for a set of mk...

Re: Front wheel spacer dimensions

Thanks mate, have just realised my right fork is slightly bent outwards. Unfortunately, whilst trying to push the fork fully onto the axle and tighten the clamp bolts, i've managed to sheer one off. Think i might have to start another thread on what to do about that.

Re: My new Bike

Ha ha! Did you get that from a young man by the name of Tom near Winchester on a Friday? I was waiting for a phone call from him if you didn't take it so i could go take a look on the Saturday. Looks good. I ended up getting one from down in langport. Had to replace both discs and pads though for an...

Front wheel spacer dimensions

Just had to do a complete brake overhaul with new discs to get my mk2 ready for an mot and when putting it all back together there seems to be a spacer missing from the speedo drive side. Anyone know the dimensions of it? Think it's a 22mm bore but not sure of the width or overall diameter. Cheers
