I brought the '99 chassis, (everything bar the engine, carb & electrics) for £375, don't see why you couldn't fit the AR engine in one...........

purple rooster : > bute  is the beast on the road? Was going to use for track days, since found out that you can bypass the new regs for putting bikes on the road via the enduro route, min seat height, min ground clearance, MOT, get it registered. Not quite that simple, :? but for puttin...

Slider,
I used to have a Z1000J bored out to 1170, high lift cams, smoothbore carbs etc. Fancied putting that engine in a Fiat 126 or similar then go disturb the chavs in their Corsas............ But like most pub projects it stayed there.

Off topic, my new motard

Hope the powers that be don't mind me showing you my latest project a CR250/500 Hybrid. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r200/ugly1171/P8280095.jpg still a Honda, bit quicker than a CRM thoug...

Yes, through Benwick, before Doddington, bet you go past the entrance & have to turn back! Nice track, they have hassle with locals about the noise, so they have to be strict with aftermarket pipes & the start & finish times............ they did have a oval track for beginners near the kids tr...

I'm from Peterborough, not a lot of places to go locally, used to go the pits near Hampton, but they're building houses up so fast now, plus the (new) locals have put pressure on the owners to stop people accessing the pits. You can still get in, just got to try a bit harder. I've supermoto'd my CRM...

Andy, I can see where you're coming from & agree that minimal damage would be done to the engine while running at idle to get the air out of the pump. The point I was trying to make was, (for people with little or no knowledge of 2 stroke engines) is, don't think that once the pump is working proper...

Well that's me put in my place, 25yrs in the trade, the last 13 years in R & D in engine performance, endurance & emissions testing obviously counts for nothing............ I always thought that in a 2 stroke engine a main jet flowed petrol which mixed with the incoming air, to provide a combustiona...

Admin's right, too much oil is as bad as not enough. The fuel mixture will run weak with oil in the tank as well as from the pump. Those clever people at Honda run the engines on dynos to calculate the fuel required for the engine. So when they decide on a jet size it's to flow petrol not petrol & o...

I've got the same problem with 2 stroke oil coming out of the gearbox breather hose. Hopefully be able to investigate further this weekend.

Didn't the TDR yamaha have a LC 250 engine in it? Not much trouble (mechanically) to fit a LC350 engine in one.

Ugly.

PS I alway thought too much is never enough, having ridden a CR500 on a few occasions, I've revised that opinion!

I've got a Mk2 crm motard, changing the wheels made a big difference, really needs a bigger engine though (CR500? )

I did this on my CR 250 along with fitting different shock linkages so I could touch the floor, Ashamed to say I didn't notice a difference to the way it handled. Fitted a Taper bar kit too so I moved the forks approx 25mm through the yolks. Still wheelies through the gears though! :D
