Re: d5aul's MK1 Supermoto project
I think it's mostly down to the lower profile 17" wheels, all the suspension bearings are all good so there is no play, although the rear shock has a stainless steel machined shaft fitted, when the bottom connection was fitted I'm not sure if this went fully home on the shaft, it wasn't going to go ...

Re: d5aul's MK1 Supermoto project
So after a busy couple of weeks finishing it off, the CRM is now complete, I started the bike last weekend for the first time however this took a few minutes as the cheapo kill switch I bought was the incorrect polarity, I have since bought another switch which is better quality & works correctly, I...

Re: d5aul's MK1 Supermoto project
A little update, side panels cleaned & painted, new front mudguard cut down & fitted & seat fitted, the seat has previously been re covered with extra sponge, I will be looking at re covering this in the original red at some point. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/d5aul/41968F87-7A0A-4780-9E65-...

Re: d5aul's MK1 Supermoto project
The supermoto wheels were an ebay find some years ago when I had my original CRM. the wheels were sold as CR500 fitment, they are Excel rims & Talon hubs, I had to get new spacers machined up but the sprocket / disc positions are correct.

d5aul's MK1 Supermoto project
I’d thought I would share my latest project with you, it’s a CRM 250 MK1 Supermoto. About 11 years ago I decided to buy a CRM 250, at the time I was offered 2 different bikes, a red one & a white one, they were both similar prices but on paper the red one was the better one with less miles etc. I vi...

CRM 250 MK1 colour circuit diagram
Whilst building up my CRM supermoto project I thought it would be useful to have a colour circuit diagram, I was unable to find anything on line so then 'found the time at work' to produce this. Hope its of use to all you MK1 owners. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v12/d5aul/CRM250MK1circuitcolour...

The Oil leak is most likely coming from the seal over the output shaft, Remove the front sprocket, providing the chain is not too tight, you should be able to do this without removing the chain, Behind the sprocket you will find a spacer that should slide off the shaft, chances are the spacer will h...

My MK1 had similar simptoms when the Regulator/Rectifier failed, The voltage measured at the headlight connector was completely wrong (should be about 14V). Due to the incorrect voltage, the powervalve was not operating correctly causing the lack of power & the temp light came on at high revs, the t...

MK1 suspension bearings
Having found I had excess play in my rear suspension linkage on my MK1, I decided to strip it all down & replace any worn bearings. The following list explains what bearings were found & if needed what I replaced them with. (all dimensions in mm) 1. Swingarm pivot bearings. Originals were marked ‘TL...

Mine just past its MOT with a full FMF system fitted, the only MOT rules concerning exhausts at the moment is that they must not display markings such as 'not for road use' or produce excessive noise output. its at the discretion of the MOT tester for the amount of noise the bike makes. I would be s...
