Re: Seat Height

Hello rory, there is no official dimensions it is a personal choice, you must keep in mind what knackered said about how it affects the suspension though. Play around, i made my Mk1 higher by Making new Dog bones 10mm shorter, it made quite a difference hey. So play around by just cutting out pieces...

Re: Intermittent Spark!

To be honest i have seen only one Mk2 and none of the others. The Mk2 had finished rings that had bent in the barrel. So i might be a bit one sided haha. The most reliable bike i have ever owned, part from the CRM has got to be a Yamaha DT50, It never ever died. We set it on fire by accident, the pi...

Re: Intermittent Spark!

Agreed haha! The balancer is a bit noisy so i might whip it out and get it rebuilt as the bearings were good. But i will replace the roller bearing anyway! This bike for its age has some steam and it sounds awesome!!! Plus it starts first kick which is unheard of for a 2 stroker!!! Thanks again guys...

Re: Intermittent Spark!

Full Monty. Stripped engine to replace seals, gaskets, Most Bearings, replaced suspension bearings seals. The Top end was done not so long ago, still has bore marks. I do agree it is really really odd that it stops working after i put evrything back together. I did try to stick away from the wiring ...

Re: Intermittent Spark!

Ok I sat with a tester and this is what i have worked out. The earth is ok. The Kill Switches are ok. The Stator/Generator is producing power. The Ignition Pick ups are not working. This could be due to the CDI and the Pick Ups. I spoke to a mate who does wiring, he recons it is the pick ups. Honda ...

Re: Intermittent Spark!

Yes i do realise what you are saying, and i appreciate your help. What happened we kicked the bike and could not get it to fire so it flooded itself, we then pulled the plug out of the bike and cut the fuel and kicked it to get most of the fuel out of the barrel. We then attached the plug to the HT ...

Re: Intermittent Spark!

We did not put enough fuel in the carb to flood it that is what we did not put the tank on. We have rebuilt a few 2 strokes and never come across this problem before. I am stuck! i might go over the electrics from the front to the back. We let you know how it goes.

Re: Intermittent Spark!

We kicked it for about half a hour, it fired once. Back Fired twice and kicked back like a four stroke!!!! It is bloody weird!!! Haha i live in Christchurch, no decent hills around hahaha. But yes my next option is to bump start. I don't have the tank on the bike yet. We have been feeding the bike f...
