Re: Anyone fancy rebuilding a caliper for money?
:D Foot pump will do it, just put a thin piece of a wood against the carrier to stop the piston damaging itself. Mike
Now thats something I had not thought of. I just need to work out how to get a air seal from the foot pump to the caliper. Looks like a weekend in ...

Cheers AlanH, that is just what I need. The biggest hurdle i see is trying to get the piston out, when you dont have access to compressed air

Re: Fixed My Mk2 from bucking and hunting in the traffic
That seems not too unreasonable. Parts seem quiet high, but im sure it all adds up quite quick, the odd bearing kit, gasket kit, piston, rings etc Did you bring the engine into them, then have to refit to the frame yourself ?? Also regarding the hunting, what gearing are you running. I read here tha...

Hi, did you get the engine rebuilt as well ??? I am in Essex so not too far away.
What sort of budget / cost of works did you have.
I assume the 'takes a little time to slow down to idling speed after being reved' has gone :?: .
Yes, that part of the problem has been resolved. Re: hunting / surging / horse kicking on the overrun
Thanks KnackeredMk1, maybe I wont go to the bother of swapping out the air box just yet. So to confirm the problem I want to resolve. When I ride along and then shut the throttle whilist comming up to a junction say ( when the exhaust is at the "ding, ding, ding" part of its cycle ) the bike feels j...

Re: hunting / surging / horse kicking on the overrun
Here are some photos of my current butchered airbox. I am awaiting delivery of a (hopefully) unmolested air box and will follow skidmarks advise of relocating the rectifer. Do you think this butchered airbox is causing my problems ? The air intake hole is the standard size but the path that the air ...

Re: hunting / surging / horse kicking on the overrun
Also I have already checked the throttle cable, no fraying and it snaps shut with a good clunk at the carb.
I have a new spark plug, but havnt fitted it yet as I want to do one step at a time.

Re: hunting / surging / horse kicking on the overrun
Hi All, Ok, I have cleaned the carb, put in a new main jet and idle jet and the bike is running much better, very good as you go up the rev range, but still getting surging / hunting at low revs and on the overrun. It appears to idle ok tho. So I thought I would check for air leaks. Sprayed WD40 aro...

Re: Carb float bowl nightmare
You guys are brilliant !!!! One pair of mole grips and a couple of turns and they came right off :-) Thanks a lot all four screws out.
I will continue the clean and jet change tonight / tommorrow.
Now I just need to get some replacement screws.
