Now after some fiddling this morning and running a new earth wire in just for the indicators (the rear light seems to be working find with the original earth) i can say that all 4 indicators were of equal brightness but would they flash, not at all, the front ones flash too fast and the rears just f...

my meters not showing any resistance between the leads so i think the 3.5 ohms is correct reading, i will attempt to run in a new earth wire when i'm next home and see what difference that makes

So i've sorted the rear light turned out to be a dodgey connector, changed that out and now working fine, the indicators on the other hand i couldn't get the rear ones to flash, i tried swapping front to rear but was no different, there is 3.5 ohms resistance between the frame earth and the lights, ...

the indicators are conventional bulb type but am about to check the earth and try swapping the front to the back to see if this makes a difference as suggested above.
Will also try the rear light with the 9v battery

Already tried swapping the wires, no joy, i'll try swapping the indicators and see where that gets me, i'm 99% sure it is a stop/tail light as it has 3 wires instead of just 2 to light it up or am i wrong?

I've unplugged both switches and it still seems really bright and neither switch makes a difference. Any suggestions as to where to go from here?
As for the indicators all four are the same new brand, i've tried testing the voltage but the readings seemed very suspect so am ignoring that for now

Electrical issues
After getting my mk2 running right its come to the stage where i'm putting the lights and things back on and have come upon a problem with rear light and indicators, the rear light seems to be on in the braking position (not sure thats the right word) but its the brighter setting if that makes sense...

Well guys i finally found out what it was.... Was the slide not seating proper so she's all back in as should be and running like a dream:) feel a bit stupid now i know what the problem was,

Right so Dad ran it again last night after i reset the float hight and was no different in fact petrol was pissing out the over flow, and it would stop when he hit the kill switch or the ignition all of a sudden, any ideas what might have caused that?

Right, I've reset the float hight using the the method described in that link (thanks mike) and just to double check the mk2's float hight is 16mm right? The old man is gunna run the bike up and see how it is tonight hopefully as i'm back away at work until friday so will update when i can, Thanks f...

ok that sounds a bit promising, would compressed air clear out the valve? I have tried the sharp tap but it was no different

Ok, would the float be too low to be causing this running issue, is the manual in the FAQ section?
