Re: Water Pump Leak
Active, cheers. Yes I am referring to the 'inspection hole' not the coolant drain hole with screw bung. What I cannot see is how the 'cup' seals the hole without sealant, seems very strange set up to me. I have reused the cup, but being of softish metal I cannot see the need to replace it if all tha...

Water Pump Leak
I have recently replaced the water pump shaft, bearing, bearing seal and impeller on my CRM, however the drain hole in the casing keeps leaking coolant, now on a car this would indicate a waterpump seal failure, however on inspection the seal on the water side of the bearing fine, however the drain ...

Re: best way to seperate brake calipers?
Fishtail, you will need the pliers, also called circlip pliers. As for all CRM250 models having the same master cylinder I have no idea. You could always fit a master cylinder from any later model enduro bike, just ensure it has the same size or larger bore, this is marked on master cylinder as 3/8,...

Re: best way to seperate brake calipers?
The seals are easy to fit, just remember to note which way round the old ones came out. If you haven't done it before probably best to use a repair manual, don't worry if you haven't got a CRM one, any repair for a motorcycle master cylinder will show you the basic principals, just remember not to r...

Re: best way to seperate brake calipers?
you says you've already fitted a braided hose and new caliper seals, if the caliper seals are leaking you'll see the weeping fluid around the pistons, likewise if you peel back the rubber dust boot on the master cylinder at the lever and it's full of fluid then then seals are leaking. However if you...

Re: Fork Adjustment
Yes there are dampers in the bottom of the fork. The forks look original and still have the KAE 871 number on the leg. Looking at the schematic diagram in the manual there should be an adjuster in the bottom of the MK2, MK3 and AR forks. The adjuster on the top of my forks is a blue anodised knurled...

Fork Adjustment
Just been tinkering with my MK2, thought I'd check the front fork adjustment, the manual says 2.5 turns. Now here is the problem, the R/H fork has 2 1/4 turns on the top adjuster, the L/H fork has 4 turns on top adjuster. I am presuming this is the damping, and not the preload, as the adjusters have...

Re: oil pump shaft seal failiure
I've just read you thread, I've not long repalced my balance shaft and water pump/impellor shaft seal and bearing. I didn't see any oil seal on the oil pump only the 'O' ring on the body of the pump, and the shaft of the oil pump sits inside the engine casing as it's the bit of the oil pump that is ...

Re: woodruff keys
Fallen is correct. The key is purely a location device, some shafts/gears/pulleys use pins or dowels. For the balance shaft the settings need to be as per factory. However if you want to change the ignition timing off-set woodruff keys can be used. These keys basically have a step in them to either ...

Re: woodruff keys
Jeram, just finished rebuilding my CRM Mk2 with new balance shaft, woodruff key same as yours, came out easly, almost loose, but once gear on the shaft no side-ways play at all. Prior to my current job I worked as a mechanic for ten years, and from my experience woodruff keys can vary from needing t...
