So ..the MK2 is going to be rebuilt..call me foolish, but I actually don't want the frame or subframe powder coated ..I want to paint it. Is it standard Honda white as used on the crossers of the day? Is there a reasonable colour match common paint ? Any advice gratefully received ..ohh, its white b...

Absolutely determined , probably...
So, as a random long term visitor and occasional contributor to this forum, I've finally decided that I WILL get my MK2 rebuilt...taken apart about 6 years ago after the bottom end started to grumble, I've decided not to sell it as bits. My youngest son has found the delights of off road riding, inc...

Re: New to CRMs looking to buy Mk1
Hi and welcome. As you know, a MK1 is getting on a bit, so I'd suggest having a good look through the technical forum for issues that are a bit specific to CRMs rather than just to older off road bikes...The swinging arm axle can seize if not greased and that can be a nightmare to shift...Engine gro...

When Doug is bored
http://i67.tinypic.com/1zbw74j.jpg Well, when your workmate says he's a bit quiet and bored, and he's a machinist with a stock of ally and stainless kicking about, it'd be rude not to give him something to do :D Nice new ally bearing retainers and stainless rear wheel spacers. He even made me a ret...

Re: Tools to be taken on rides?
Although Ive not yet made one for the MK 2, when I was using my Husaberg, I made up a double ended ring spanner to fit the front and rear axle nuts. The Berg was 24mm and 17mm....source a cpl of cheap or car boot spanners, cut and weld to just short enough to fit into bumbag..voila!

Re: HID Headlight kit
Blimey Mike, I didnt think that stuff leaked out from the factory...you have good contacts. The H.I.D system was pioneered by Lucas, although back then it stood for Highly Intermittent Dynamo, followed by the revised system that became Hugely In the Dark. Your contact was a little confused on the CD...

Re: HID Headlight kit
HI Mike, Good point...my electrical man at the show also made that point that he didnt know of any that were approved and it would very likely have to be swopped out for MOT. The appeal on my AJS is that they use less power to give a good light..supposedly about 35w, and thats handy when youve only ...

Re: HID Headlight kit
HI Ewan, Ive been looking at HID kits for my British bike too but havent got round to trying it yet, so I'll be interested to hear how yours performs. I did some research on HID kits and there is a bit of scaremongering about cheap kits and the power units, but at £20, I guess its well worth a punt....
