chain guide

When a 48 tooth sprocket is fitted, should the chain guide that hangs under the swing arm be modified/dropped down a bit, it seems to be wearing away my chain. I thought i had read something on here before but can't find it now.

Thanks Knackered, found it now, my one's so small it's hardly noticeable (the raised semi circle that is!) Cheers for all the help.

Re: counter balance shaft

I have 2 sets of gears for the engine, neither of the balance shaft gears have a mark on them and only 1 of the crankshaft gears has a center dot mark on it. very strange! is there any other way of timing them?

counter balance shaft

Hi all Just re-assembling my engine and got to the part where you put the gears on the end of the crank shaft. just wandered what position the counterbalance shaft is rotated to in relation to the crank. I would have thought there would be a couple of marks on the gears to get the crank/counter bala...

Re: GEARBOX OIL LEVEL ON ARs

I had this problem and discovered it was the seal on the oil pump had gone so the 2T oil was draining into the gearbox. I discovered it when i filled up the 2T to go out for a ride (as i always do) but never got round to going. It was another 2 weeks before i went out and when i looked at the 2T oil...

Re: crank case bolts

Thanks Steve. I will replace the main bearings. There wasn't any more bolts, The problem with it not separating was because It was holding on the location bush at the front! I put a couple of the bolts back in at the gearbox and tapped a stanley knife blade in at the join at the front and it cracked...

Re: crank case bolts

it's seperating all the way around except at the cylinder base at the front, Is there a location sleeve or something in this area? I've taken the M6 bolt out at the front.

crank case bolts

I'm just about to split the crank case, i have removed 11 x M6 bolts, are there any more as it doesn't seem to want to come apart.

Thanks

Re: 2 stroke oil into geatbox

Thanks Clint, i'll need that info. Haven't quite got it fixed yet, I haven't put the pump back in yet as i haven't got the seal, but in advance, when i get the seal, i know i'm going to be asking the question (as i didn't take note when removing it) which way round does the seal go? Now i've written...

Re: 2 stroke oil into geatbox

Just took the pump off, the shaft stays in the clutch case (guess it's got a big gear on it preventing it coming out?)
but the seal stays in the pump, so, you were right, no need to remove clutch cover etc. nice easy fix :D .

Thanks again

Re: 2 stroke oil into geatbox

From your description it sounds like quite a straight forward fix :D .

Thanks again
