Re: Welding
I'd disconnect it, remove it and put it under my bed for safe keeping
Can't be too careful, 5 mins of unplugging may save you a couple of hundred quid and a few weeks off the road.
Whilst it may be OK to weld with the whole system connected it's never worth the risk in my book.

Re: Salisbury Plain
I'd show you some routes or give you some ideas, no problem. As the autumn draws in it can get pretty slippery on the chalky bits but still good fun. As said previously you can find your way round with maps, but you'll be mostly on the big gravel tracks, of which there are miles. Range wardens are p...

Re: Bagshot, Surrey 31st Aug/1st Sept.
Just had "the regs" through from the BLORC, which is a first, it looks like there are problems with noise, now machines must be road legal & no LOUD pipes, so the MX boys won't be allowed to play.
Cheers,
Andy

Re: A Year to forget
I will do my best to uphold CRM honour Tony ;) Heck of a run of bad luck you're having mate, hope you can still hold a pint ok. Can't remember who said it but "to finish first, you first have to finish", you're by far the quickest out there in the trail bike class and i think consistantly one of the...

Re: Bagshot, Surrey 31st Aug/1st Sept.
Hi Mike, i guess you can ride an area to death, thats why I'm always looking for somewhere new to have some fun, if i stick to the same old trails over Salisbury Plain I'd get bored with 'em. John and the BLORC lads put on a pretty good day for the money. 1. - Alpine course - gravel tracks sweeping ...

Bagshot, Surrey 31st Aug/1st Sept.
The BLORC are doing another 2 day practice session at Bagshot if anyone's interested, £40 a day, 9 - 5 ish, so works out only £8 an hour ;) A rare opportunity for us Southerners to ride some interesting terrain legally without the pressure of competition, they'll even do some basic instruction if yo...

Re: Mk3 main jet size and oil ratio for pre-mix
So far the pump is still in service, though i must admit i did set it to add a touch more oil. Started the Ryedale rally with 130km of running in done, cruised the liason sections and didn't hold it flat out on the special tests and it made it round fine, don't think it slowed me down at all really....

Tony, your run of bad luck has got to come to an end!
Cracking good rally, just home today as we stayed and played tourists for a day.

Mk3 main jet size and oil ratio for pre-mix
Gents, following my crank failure at the Kielder rally, I'm thinking about running pre-mix on my Mk3, standard exhaust with Boyesen reeds. Firstly, is it worth the hassle? I'm paranoid about losing another crank so currently yes in my book. If so, anyone have any experience as to ratio for fuel/oil,...

Bagshot, 14th July or PMCRC enduro
The BLORC are having a weekend' er at Bagshot, bikes on Sunday 14th July if anyone's interested, limited number of bikes on the Saturday but shared with 4x4's, £40 per day again. I'm interested but won't book until after the Ryedale rally the weekend before, in case i break the bike or me. Or, there...

Re: Kielder K2 Rally
I know what you mean Tony, if only my CRM had kept going.Looking at the results, all I should have done was ride round slowly and I would have had third at least (two trail bikes finished)
Ah well, sh*t happens as they say.
