Re: VIN number advice needed

My log book came through in the end. I sold that bike last year and regretting it. even though the main bearing went on the new owner. after I had replaced every bearing when it went on me!

Re: Can't start my CRM.

Piston was replaced in November. It was like new when I rebuilt the bottom end. I inspected that before finding out the main bearing had gone!

God I miss that bike. Been looking at buying another as I have a new job but the prices are through the roof all of a sudden :(

Re: Urgent help required!

I don't think that's a good idea as you won't get the old oil out easily. I think if you was doing that then follow FMTB's advice/idea. Drill and tap the drain plug then drain through there (new smaller bolt in the freshly tapped hole inside drain plug). 1 issue I see there that I'm not too sure abo...

Re: Urgent help required!

I'm sure if it was ground back flat (the surface that meets the bolt) it would be fine with a fresh copper crush washer. I'd be inclined to to try and find as thick of a crush washer I could.

Re: bye bye CRM

I'll be back for sure. Just can't afford 2 bikes at the moment and driving to work is costing me a fortune. Cheers for all your help and advice I learnt a lot with your lots help. For now I'm back on a bandit 6 so the spanners won't be seeing as much use as they did with the CRM. Not that it was unr...

bye bye CRM

Well, sold the CRM and I am missing it already. It's gone to a lad called Oliver from Wolverhampton. I'd bet a pound to a penny he'll be in here soon enough asking for advice as its not only his first CRM but his first 2 stroke. Be nice to him fellas he seems a good kid. I pointed him to this site s...

Re: Front brakes

What I've noticed about the front brake on the CRM (after rebuilding it several times trying to "fix" it) is that they have just enough stopping power to be good off road but are terrible on road and as you say scary sometimes. I have a caliper that came with a XR 125 that fits but doesn't make it a...

Re: Spokes

I had Shirebrook motorcycles (local to me but have a website) relace it with stainless spokes. £95. I'm very pleased with his work. Didn't like the thought of spending that much on someone doing something to a wheel for me but when I went to collect it my face lit up. Much better than buying a secon...

I was arranging purchase of a clutch cover in my inbox and had to delete messages (kept saying full) so lost your email ...

Re: 2 stroke oil into geatbox

Yes mate that's exactly what is behind there keeping it in. Have a read of this viewforum.php?f=20 if you ever get stuck there is everything you need to know here (including this problem).

Glad you got it fixed.

Re: 2 stroke oil into geatbox

You just need to remove the clutch cover. You MAY be able to do it without removing the clutch cover by unbolting the 2T pump but I'm not 100% sure. It would be worth a look though as it's easy to get to and you don't risk ruining any gaskets if it can be done from behind the pump. What I am 100% su...
