bike4life
Was just wondering if anyone was going to bike4life? I thought it would be pretty cool to have a good group of CRM's go if anyone else is up for it?

Re: Hi from brisbane australia
Hi there,
I have family in Sydney. Not sure where that is geographically compared to Brisbane but I'm sure you have plenty of nice off road area's to ride.
Don't over tighten the sump plug. It has caused me no end of problems and a lot of money!
Welcome and enjoy!

Re: Cleaning bearings?
Not the new bearings, I hadn't installed them yet luckily. It's the old, but good ones. I'm really asking if this is my fault for leaving them in, or if I should try and claim something back from the welder? Also, on this note, there is a bearing with no access from the rear of it to knock it out. I...

Cleaning bearings?
So, I have taken my crank cases to have some welding around the oil drain plug tidied up before I put the engine back together. I had already been to Leisure Trail last weekend and got myself everything I needed for the rebuild. Now it would seem that the welder has left a few tiny bits of metal wir...

Re: First ever rebuild!
I have managed to drive the bearings out. I used a socket and hammered them through. I put the bearings into the freezer for about an hour as a bit of an experiment. They almost dropped straight in when I tried, however I have kept them out for now. I have to get the crank cases welded before I star...

Re: First ever rebuild!
I already had a clutch casing gasket and yes, I am going to attempt all of the work myself. There is nothing wrong with the piston rings, I am going to replace the whole piston when I have the money. At least that doesn't require splitting the crank cases again. I may take so long reassembling the b...

Re: First ever rebuild!
Hi again guy's,today I went to Leisure Trail and I have to say, I was very pleased with the service that I received. One of the guy's there, labelled their CRM expert, checked all of my bearings for me and spent time talking me through me next steps. I purchased: -Front and rear sprockets, and new O...

Re: First ever rebuild!
I took the bike apart when it stopped running and a mechanic informed me that the main bearing's were gone and should be replaced. This is what has led me to this position. I'm just trying to get my baby running again, but in doing so stop it from breaking again any time within the next couple of ye...

Re: First ever rebuild!
It will be interesting to see your total bill for parts from Leisure Trail. Full gasket set: Head, base, clutch, exhaust, water pump, centre case Crank seals, Clutch arm seal, output shaft seal. Piston rings and small end bearing and circlips (whilst it apart its a no brainer) Set of main bearings ...

Re: First ever rebuild!
So, yesterday I got my new crank case splitter (or so it say's). I was using it to push the crank out of the case since it has got stuck. Although the standard bolts with the splitter were too big so I had to use the case bolts from the engine stacked with a load of washers. Aside from that small is...
