Re: CR/CRM Fork leg length

Thanks all,

I've got them dropped through the yolks as far as possible now. Steers much better so i'll have to be happy with that.

Raced at the weekend and they were much inmproved, but they are on the hard side which i think has been posted on here before.

Re: CR/CRM Fork leg length

I've not tried standard forks as the CR forks were already on, but i have heard they are not great. The CR forks are pretty firm (which seems to be a general opinion) and i have them as soft as i can get them. No quick fix for that, just wondering how much they are affecting the steering.

Re: CR/CRM Fork leg length

If you get chance to measure them that would be great, i'll have a better idea then. It steers better now i've dropped them through the yolks.
The CR forks are slightly smaller diameter (near the top). I've made spacers for the top clamps which are working well (been in 2 years).
A measurement ...

CR/CRM Fork leg length

I have (i think.....), 1991 CR 250 usd fronk forks in my mk 2. The front end seems high and i'm wondering if the CR forks are longer than the originals and so the geometry has been changed (steering is slow). I measure 920mm from the top of the fork leg to spindle (sat under it's own weight) and ...

sticky forks

The USD forks on my mk2 seem to 'stick' through the first 1/3 of their compression. The bottom part of the stroke is nice and free and progressive. The top part of the stroke feels very sticky and doesn't seem to slide freely. The forks have had new bushes, seals and oil; non of which made a ...

Airbox

I have a Mk 2 and want to remove the heavy rubber panel inside the side panel airbox side. I think it's just sound proofing. Is this correct? I presume it has no sealing effect on the airbox and is safe to remove?
Also, i read about removing the plastic baffling in the airbox so it can breath ...

Best suspension

Hi,
I race my CRM in Enduro's and it is great! One area where i do feel the need to improve is the suspension however.

I have a standard rear which holds pressure and (freshly rebuilt) CR250 USD folks (1989 we think judging by seal sizes). Anyone have any suggestions as to better alternatives? Don ...

Re: Usd forks

I run CR250 USD forks in mine, late nineties vintage i believe. Slightly smaller diameter, so have thin sleeves in the yolks so they tighten fully. I only use it off road so i run the CR wheel (no speedo pick-up). Don't know if you need spacers etc to fit the CRM wheel .....

Return to the dirt

Hi all,
Just bought a CRM Mk2 to run along side my XT600 (Dull but dependable and may now get sold). Raced an Enduro at the weekend and was loving being back on the dirt after years of 4 stroke sportsbikes, wish i'd done this years ago. Giving the CRM some attention now as I am loving it so far. Had ...
