Re: Blast n paint

Blocking them all up is the way to go after talking to most people. Good bit of advice about the frame number being protected before blasting, thanks Keith for that. The legend they call TOM from leisure trail had the same to say about it all. Block all reservoir holes, use old bolts in threads and ...

Blast n paint

I know very little about shot/sand/bead blasting and powder coating. I have the md24 mk2 with the 2 stroke in the frame. Now my question is do I block up all the holes to the frame for blasting and flush it all out after or do I blank them all off with something harder than it’s being blasted with? ...

Re: Rust?

Thanks knackered. It did sit for a while before I got it. The bearings are as clean as a whistle. Seems it's had a rebuild of the bottom end and then just never serviced and ran into the hills. Shame they didn't change any other bearings. Swing arm was fun[FEARFUL FACE] Sent from my SM-G900F using T...

Rust?

Hi all. Engine has been running fine apart from a slippy kick starter and bad carb settings. Bike is all apart for new bearings. Inspecting the crank I find this. I lightly polished off what I could quickly and took the picture. More can be polished but it must of been running like this. Any views a...

Talking of fiesta's...I saw an immaculate xr2 for sale....£15000?!?! They were quick little cheap motors that we used to abuse. When did they become sought after?

Re: Rad valve.

32 quid to hmrc for letting boyesen sell me something from America. Delayed delivery by a day but it's not like I will be needing yet as the bike is still in bits and waiting for the frame to be powder coated. Its going in my bike porn cupboard with all the other shiny new bits. http://tapatalk.imag...

Athena have them on their site for 298.69 euros but showing none in stock. I wonder if they will get through customs without extra being added by someone. cupp...

Re: CR250 Tank

I second that chops. I'm wondering about doing the tank conversion now. And only because I found this site and all the great info. Especially as you say from knackered. I reckon he must be a Japanese Honda bot in the computer...how does he know all this magic! Glad he does though! Thanks knackered. ...

Re: Swing arm engine mount removal.

Lots of swearing later...its out! I made up some oak drifts. just big enough to fit nicely into the frame and onto the end of the bolt. Made them about a foot long and got the big persuader to tap the end. Split 3 but protected it all nicely. One of the bearings had shattered so that didn't help but...

Swing arm engine mount removal.

Evening all [WHITE SMILING FACE] She is completely apart (mk2)...apart from the last engine mount swing arm bolt. I've got the 22mm nut off and the spindle spins freely but it just won't budge through the frame, engine and swing arm. I'm sure it needs a good whack but honestly my best and hardest wh...
