Anyone else get a horrible knocking sound at idle?
I know a 2 smoker can be a noisey engine but I get a fairly loud and deep thudding knock constantly at idle warm or cold on my MK1. Overbored 1.50 mm. Dep pipe standard jetting running autolube and Boyesen dual stage reeds. Rev it and it goes away but at idle it’s always there! Something to worry ab...

Two pick up coils..... why?
Anyone know why the CRMs have two AC inductive pick up coils for ignition timing?

Re: Oil leak from Balance shaft
If it’s only while warm it could be worth checking the gearbox breather pipe for blockage. Long shot but the expansion inside under heat could be forcing oil out the seal instead of air out the breather pipe if you know what I mean? If that’s okay then likely hood is that it’s the seal that’s just n...

Ignition capacitor/condenser
Got an intermittent/weak spark issue and I’m thinking it might be the ignition cap/condenser. Coil and plug + plug cap check out fine. CDI is a rare failure (it’s a MK1) triggers at flywheel seem to get a signal fine and wiring loom/connections all have continuity and are in brand new condition (rec...

Re: Oil Sump Cracked - URGENT Help Please!
I hate to say it but essentially it looks like you have 2 options. Replace the right hand engine casing if you can find a 2nd hand one. Or if you still have the part that snapped off have an engineering outfit or a mate who can do a decent job of alloy welding reattach it it and try to re tap/repair...

Mk1 owners.... Distance from bottom yoke to spindle.
Anyone who finds themselves with a spare 5 mins and has a Mk1 with the original forks on it. Could you measure the distance between the bottom surface of the bottom yoke and the centre of the spindle with the front wheel off the ground? Just looking to see if my forks are at the correct height in th...

Ignition condenser... Where is it!?
Hi there! Could one of you knowledgeable folks let me know where on the MK1 CRM the ignition condenser is meant to be? I'm trying to rewrite one that's loom was butchered and I've no idea where on the bike the component is meant to be located. Can't find any obvious mounting tab for the rubber hold ...

Alternative Clutch inner hub
So I've managed to snap off one of the posts in the CRM's inner clutch hub.... Great job I know ha ha Is anyone aware of any alternative hub that works? I know the CR's seem to use 6 posts so probably are out of the question but crf perhaps? The only 2nd hand one I can find is extortionately priced!...

Re: Quick question about swing arms
Anyone know what exactly the difference is between a Mk1 swing arm and the other ones? Any pics? I'm kind of certain I've got a Mk2 swing arm and shock on my Mk1 CRM but I definitely have a MK1 linkage! Would this be possible!?
