Re: 17" road wheels

I fitted XR650 wheels. The front goes on to Mk2 and above without any problems the back needs new spacers including the internal one for the hub (the XR650 is 20mm spindle the CRM is 17mm). I think you can get away with one standard bearing but the other needs to be turned to fit. Thanks, that coul...

Re: 17" road wheels

I've had a reply from Talon who are still doing wheels and hubs for the xr400 from 1996 onwards. Including 3.5x17 and 4.2.5x17 rims and spokes they are a shade over £1100 with a 4 week wait.

A bit over my budget but I thought I'd post up here in case anyone else is looking.

Re: 17" road wheels

Thank you, that's some great help and info. Spacers aren't really an issue as I can get some made at work but like you said it's a bit of an expensive mistake if I get the wrong wheels at the start. I have tried to contact talon and the message I'm getting back from most suppliers is that the hubs a...

17" road wheels

Firstly apologies for all the questions recently. After feeling like I'm hitting plenty of dead ends trying to find a set of crm specific road wheels i was wondering if anyone had a list of suitable wheels that will fit with minimal modifications? So far I've read wheels that will fit with little or...

Re: Aliexpress

Cheers, I haven't got the wheels yet. I was hoping to get a price for a full kit and save scouring ebay (wheels, rotor, spacers etc.) but it doesn't look like leisure trail have all the bits.

I don't take a pillion much but I have an 11yr old who loves getting on the back from time to time.

Re: oil sensor part number - help please

Thanks for the quick reply it's good to know they aren't totally necessary. Is it an easy job to blank off?

It may be a daft question and a simple job, I haven't seen the bike in the flesh yet and want to make sure its right before I ride it.

Thanks again

oil sensor part number - help please

Could anyone help with a part number or where to get the 2 stroke oil sensor for a 1991 mk2 CRM? I've just had word from the seller of a bike I'm buying that after the frame was powder coated the original sensor unit was damaged and he's struggling to find a replacement. He says the sensor can just ...

Re: Model value and reliability

Thanks, Is there an upgrade for the mk2 reg/rec and ecu? I used to own a firestorm and the owners were always swapping reg/recs for mosfet / r1 models as well as the manual cct conversion. I guess because I'm planning to use mine for both commuting during the week and green laning on a weekend I wou...

Model value and reliability

Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section. I'm due delivery of my mk2 in the near future and while feeling like a kid at Christmas the more I read about these bikes, the more it seems that the different models can attract quite a big difference in value (AR = most $$$). Has anyone got a guid...

Re: Soon to be new owner (with questions)

Thanks for the reply Keith, I'm told it has had a recent engine refresh/rebuild and I didn't hear anything untoward in the video I received. The metalwork has been shotblasted / powdercoated and i'm told the plastics are a bit rough but they are all there and nothing a scrub / graphics kit can't sor...

Soon to be new owner (with questions)

Hi all, in the next couple of weeks i am due to be the proud owner of a mk2 CRM. The plan is to run a set of 17" motard wheels to commute during the week and swap to trail tyres for weekend fun so I'm hoping for a bit of advice. I've had my fill of sportsbikes for now and I'm just looking to do some...
