got a second hand spline, the one that goes into the casing, there are two small cogs that are spring loaded and a few of the teeth were slightly worn, obviously doesnt take much wear for them to slip, slight rounding of teeth will do the trick.

I have replaced radiator cap and removed thermostat but it still spurts out when stationary and under high revs.
Any ideas? could it be faulty water pump or blown gasket?

My 1991 is leaking coolant from the reservoir overflow pipe.
As soon as it gets quite hot it pi**es out. Is this a problem with water pump?
If i take radiator cap off when motor is running the coolant is pretty static.
