Re: oops! fried my pgm :-(

my solution for where to mount me electrex reg/rec was inside the airbox (think i read about it on here somewhere...) welded washers onto 6mm stud & bonded them to airbox cover. its yet to be tried in action, quite a fiddle to get cover back on airbox but the reg/rec will have fresh air @ won't get ...

Re: oops! fried my pgm :-(

thanks to Andrew Firman who donated an untested Mk3 PGM to the cause i now have two broken Mk3 PGMs so have been tempted into investigating if i can, with the help of a mate, mend one of 'em :-) The first task was to hacksaw through the plastic case, separating the connector from the case too. The c...

Re: CRM250 MK2 replace MK1 wiring loom and Ignition system

there is good information about the cdi and flywheels in the Frequently Asked Questions
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5263#p59999
though it does not seem to mention Mk1 cdi/flywheel compatibility

Re: oops! fried my pgm :-(

nick reckons he doesn't fix the no spark problem

i've pinned the problem down to a duff regulator/rectifier which in turn broke the sparky side of PGM. Got a replacement Electrex reg/rec so now face the problem of where to place the larger unit.

Re: no spark - i'm out of ideas

reading 'CDI/ECU Problems' FAQ suggests i should check voltage supply, might try injecting 12v into the loom

no spark - i'm out of ideas

Firstly, how it stopped; did a couple of laps of a small track & engine spluttered & stopped. it seemed to me like it had run out of fuel, topped it up & still wouldn't start, decided it must be the carb blocked. Took carb apart & there was a lot of silty sediment in it (previous run had been very d...

HT lead detaches from ignition coil

I've discovered that on my Mk3 (same coil as AR) the HT lead screws into the ignition coil in the same way as the plug cap screws in. All other coils i've seen have the lead fixed in place. Just wanted to add to the information pool :-) hopefully when i re-assemble with a new bit of lead i will have...

Re: 1991 MK2 CRM Supermoto Project

yup, exactly as you described sean. Can be a bit difficult getting the last bubbles of air out when bleeding because the standard nipple is usually placed at the highest point of the caliper so that any bubbles rise up through t'nipple & so with the banjo replacement nipple you may need to unbolt th...
