Wouldn't worry too much about wheel balance with off road tyres on - you'll never get em bang on and you'd lose the weights anyway eventually off-road.

If by rim locks you mean 'bead locks', then they just slot through the hole provided in the rim, and tighten-up fully when you've got the tyre back on fully and seated.

Went to start my bike after leaving it stood for a couple of weeks - turned on the fuel and it just p****s out of the overflow tube on the float chamber.
