Re: Crm 250 mark 3 1994 runs fine at low revs but not top end??
Have you done a plug chop on it? If, as you say, it was better with the airbox opened up more and the filter removed it sounds like it may well just be running rich at the top end to me. Have you cleaned the filter? Have you got an un-cut airbox and a stock size main jet you can try? - assuming the ...

Re: steering head bearing seals - need one...
Great stuff. Very many thanks for the part no. It's very much appreciated. I'll get a pair ordred and geta seal above that upper bearing. I'll leave the old upper seal on the lower bearing until I next replace the bearings or it proves to be a problem.

Re: steering head bearing seals - need one...
Upper and lower seal look to be marked as different parts in the diagrams from the parts book I have (no actual part numbers, as mentioned), but the upper seal fitted below the lower bearing and into the frame recess nicely enough so I used the upper seal on the lower to allow me to reassemble with ...

Re: steering head bearing seals - need one...
Yes, I's not about saving money so I can order the bearing seals through Leisuretrail easily enough, but really I'm still going to need a proper parts book if I'm going to bother doing anything much with the CRMs (I have 2 Mk.2s), as I do all my own spannering and it'd likely be quicker and easier t...

Re: steering head bearing seals - need one...
Thanks. I've tried the seach facility every which way and can't find the part number for, or an alternative supplier for the seals alone - which is all I need as I have suitable bearings to hand. I'll have another go though in case I've missed it. I have a digi copy of the parts book with exploded d...

steering head bearing seals - need one...
Can anyone give me the part number or, better still, an alternative source for the steering head bearing seals (trashed the lower one removing the bearing - like you do...) Are upper and lower bearing seal the same?

Re: more power valve questions
Thanks for the tip, but, er, can you tell me how to check it? I've never checked a reg/rect before so don't know how to go about it... I have a multimeter though so if I know what I'm looking for I should be able to manage...

Re: more power valve questions
On the CRM I'm currently renovating (I have no real experience of the CRM yet really) I discovered yesterday that the powervale wasn't working at all, and was stuck in the fully open position. I can confirm that it will run (and tick over) fine, but will feel a bit gutless at the bottom end. The tra...

Re: Ballpark jetting for a MK.2 with full DEP system?
Lol, yes drilling it out (micro drill and a needle vice) was just a temporary stop gap as I don;t have jets of the right type to hand and couldn't get any easily today. I live out in the sticks, so need a mail order source of the right type really. Basically I'm effectively new to CRMs having had a ...

Re: Ballpark jetting for a MK.2 with full DEP system?
Thanks, Fallen'. Tried the search bit before posting but couldn't find any specific sizes or pointers really. For the time being I've just drilled a stock 128 out to about 1.32mm. the only other suitable jet I had to hand was a 155 which was way too rich. Seems fine at the moment, but have only bimb...

Ballpark jetting for a MK.2 with full DEP system?
As above, can anyone advise on a rough ballpark main size for me to start from for a Mk.2 running a full DEP system. Stock aibox and premix.
Also need a source for the 'long' hex head mains if anyone can advise?
TIA

MK 2 rear caliper wobble...
Just replaced the pads on my recently acquired MK.2. Should i be able to rock the caliper slightly when everything is nipped up tight? (I'm new to off road bikes  ) I noticed too that the old pads had worn in a kind of 'diagonal' way - ie both are worn more at one end than the other (opposite ...
