[quote="edarter"]I don't have any ideas based on sound engineering principles, but model aircraft 2 stroke engines won't transition from tickover to full power if the bottom end mixture is out.... that coupled with the fact you seem to have cooked it may suggest you are running way too lean bottom ...

parting out?
I have this 89 in South america, low miles bike with a new motor (bottom to top) and I just screwed up the top end somehow, will need at least to be rebored and a piston. I'm through messing with this thing, going to sell it as is. The parts worth anything? It was a pretty nice bike but it has been ...

This thing and I have had our final battle, I'm threwww. I have an 89, NEW FU*&^%$ motor from LT. I have had some freakin carb problem that no one could fix for months, lately I decided to give it another go. I eliminated the \"racing\" problem, but it seemed not to want to rev right this time ...

16mm float setting 89
I have an 89 that want's to live again but it's having some carby problems. The main problem was a BAD surging problem where the engine would race uncontrolably till I did someting drastic of one form or another to shut it down. So I have determined there are really no air leaks anywhere, non ...

Well, there is carbon in the combustion chamber also. Seems since I changed the plug and that had no effect, that if the carbon is a problem its in the combustion chamber. That though, is not what is causing the thing to race like a maniac, that is air and or gas. The carbon is only a sub-symptom. I ...

Well thats an idea allright, 180 out. I think though, that the fact that the problem seems intemitant would rule that out. Seems that if it were something that concretely wrong, that the problem would be consistent, allways the same. I will though certainly check that, and thanks for the new idea ...

89 CRM 250 WITH UNCONTROLLED ENGINE RACING PROBLEM?????
I'm currently living in South America and have an 89 CRM that has a brand new engine in it (ouch). When I bought it a few months ago it had been sitting for years with low milage. It ran fine for a while but a couple of bearings went south apparently due to moisture corrosion in a humid climate over ...
