Movement on the gearbox sprocket is normal. It is to allow for lateral movement of the chain.

In the present political climate, it is imperative to join the TRF. As individuals we will not be heard, but as a group we are in with a chance. The TRF is a mine of information, and also provides legal backing should you be pulled whilst riding a legal lane. Also, let's not forget we are all voters...

Re: Oil seals
The splines on the shafts act like little knives on the lips of the seals. Just cover the splines with a layer of insulation tape. Then lightly oil the tape with clean oil and the new seals will pop straight over the shaft with no damage.

Try changing the gearbox oil. If that gets contaminated it can cause the plates to stick. Favourite source of this is the gearbox breather. If you have not done it already reroute it. I have extended mine up to the headstock. If the breather comes out under the bike, immediately you enter water with...
