Re: Mk2 Forks Sticking..?

I don't find the standard bars to bad but one day will change them. I ride with bent legs when stood up anyway so it's not too bad. My fork caps are almost flush with the top yoke so that's interesting. Which is the standard fork height?

Re: Mk2 Forks Sticking..?

Mine does look like yours- my mistake..

Loosened axle clamp bolts, fork 'popped' over about a mm or so.. Problem almost resolved.. Released a fraction of air from the tubes too. I'll do an oil change next..

What's the optimum setup for a 12 stone 6'2" novice rider ?

Re: Mk2 Forks Sticking..?

Mk2 Forks Sticking..?

My front end has always had a weave above 50mph and never felt stable at all off road which does no good at all for a novice's confidence... I merely put this down to knobblies.

Anyway, out for a pootle along the lanes today so went to fill up with petrol. Whilst waiting for the car in front I did ...

Re:

mine does a similar thing now and again, put it in first at idle when the engine is warm and it'll die, ride off down the road and it operates fine.theres the required slack in my cable and the clutch operates in the first 1/3 of the lever movement, theres no 'slip' so i've never bothered changing it ...

Re:

Also worth checking Chronyx is the carb slide might be sticking, and the spring might be worn or broken :)

I had a DTR do this. Turned out some numpty had adjusted the throttle slide tickover screw while the slide was at it's lowest point and thus the screw drilled a small notch/hole into the ...

where they ride. Have a couple of ordinance survey maps to have a look at.

Go south of the M4 and you can ride pretty much any of the trails as most are BOATS (the green crosses on the OS maps) The Ridgeway is seasonal I believe around here, but illegal past the ...
