Re: Chain slipper replacement?
As refered to by Jompy, I adapted a chain slider from a Yamaha YZ-125. I can't remember what year model but it was a late model so it was cheap and available locally (1/3 to 1/2 the price of a CRM slider). You could possibly fit other sliders. Just wrap the slider around the swingarm in line with th...

Re: CRM-250 MK2 - In Australia
Hi Speeddevice, I have a mark II CRM and just started pulling the bike down with a view to complete rebuild. Can I contact you re your experience in your rebuild if you still have the CRM. Looks a daunting task at the beginning but worth it I am sure . regards Martin South Coast NSW Hi Martin, Sorr...

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
Not too much has happened since the last update however I did get the chance to take the bike to a friends farm. The CRM is excellent offroad! I have managed to give the caliper a nice coat of paint. The two hi-temp paint colours I had were Chevy Orange or EE Cherry Red. I went with the orange since...

Re: crm engine
If the gearbox is getting pressurised check the breather hose.
I had the same thing on my bike. Because the breather hose was blocked, as the bike warmed up, the air and any moisture would expand and pressurise the gearbox.

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
Hi Mekros, I managed to score the caliper & master cylinder in good condition when I purchased the wheels, that's been my main reason for using it. It also has a lot more brake pad area than the CRM caliper. If I was going to buy another I have seen left hand side calipers on ebay for ~$60 from a nu...

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
I dis-assembled the calipers http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/P1010240_zpslgterl4s.jpg It looks like the caliper halves are symmetrical front to rear. It is just the machining that is carried out which determines if it is for the left or right hand side fork mounting. http://i347.phot...

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
A friend suggested bleeding it off the bike too. I popped the pistons out and had a look. I think I may be able to drill the galleries, machine an o-ring seal for the crossover and machine a new thread for the banjo fitting. I'll take a few measurements and plan it before doing anything. If it's too...

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
Update: Have hit a snag with the caliper. I split the caliper open to see about machining a new banjo fitting on the other end of the caliper, since the disc will be on the left hand side (Honda) as opposed to the right hand side (Aprilia), to allow for bleeding. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p...

Re: 2 stroke pump
Try dis-assembling the pump and checking the ball-check valve and the plunger seal. Here's a link, it may not be the same but gives you an idea on what is going on inside the pump; http://www.thejunkmanadv.com/uploads/8/4/0/3/8403513/6569269_orig.jpg There may be some dirt stopping the ball valve fr...

Re: MK2 removing engine from frame - odd size washer
Soda blasting is a good way to clean the engine up without damaging seals or other delicate parts. You can even make your own.
If you do want to paint it after soda blasting make sure it gets a thorough clean to neutralize the bicarb soda.
I still like glass-bead blasting for the finish.

Re: Steering head tube "lengthened"
With the nut tightened on the shaft it should load all the bearings into the tube. When the front wheel comes down from a jump/wheelie or goes over a bump the load should be up through the axis of the steering head (some of the force can also act as a lever through the steering head twisting the for...

Looks very tidy after the clean up.
Just needs a bit of paint on the flywheel cover.
