Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
This is how the sprocket lines up. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/P1010111_zpsj10iwxhg.jpg It is currently a 40 tooth. Could use a shorter chain or maybe a larger front sprocket. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/P1010112_zps6jo4vzi5.jpg http://i347.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
Forgot to say this before but thanks for the compliment rich1960. Thought I better add a disclaimer in here... *** Disclaimer - This is not a straight forward swap. Parts need to be fabricated/modified/bought to make this combination fit. *** but you already new that now didn't you. Ok. Back ...

Re: Oils
Castor oil is vegetable based and derived from the bean of the castor oil plant. It is an excellent oil for racing as the lubricity improves with temperature HOWEVER it may not be good to use in the oil-injection/autolube system because it does have a tendency to gum-up and oxidize when exposed to a...

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
Here's a shot of it being machined on a manual mill http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/P1010050_zpszmgjoxpm.jpg And the finished part with the caliper. I think I will have to shave the "Aprilia" name off and repaint the calipers to make them look at home on the Honda; http://i347.photob...

Re: CRM-250 MK2 - In Australia
Here's a pick of the custom rear tail assembly. Made from sheet and angle aluminium. Please excuse the miss matched indicators and gouge on the bottom left of the plate. I took it well past it's balance one time. The tail/brake light is an LED unit from evilBay but is "C" marked and has a clear sect...

Re: MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
Since I designed the part in Solidworks I ran an FEA (Finite Element Analysis) on the finished part to see if it was strong enough and where the weak points were. With a bit of time I whittled away the part to almost half the original weight. It would be too difficult/costly to machine but could be ...

Re: Indicator dont work
The flasher relay is a small round or square block up near the headlight, about 25 x 25mm. It has a connector with two pins that can easily be unplugged and changed.
Also check the indicator switch as the contacts in there can get dirty or worn.
Have you got a copy of the wiring diagram for testing?

MK2 with Aprilia Parts (In Progress)
I was considering the idea of converting my CRM into a motard but most wheel packages were too expensive. The CBR 3 or 5 spoke wheels were at least $500, wire spoke wheels were well over $1000 but didn't have a cush drive. Then a set of Aprilia RS-125 wheels came up cheap. They even had the forks an...

Re: Auto lube reliability
I used to believe in the idea of removing oil-injection because stories of "a friend-of-a-friend who's oil-injected bike suddenly died" but have yet to find anyone who's actually had a fault with the injection system. More often it is because the oil was allowed to run out, the wrong oil was used or...

Here's a few more pics of the bike once I finished it. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/P1000185_zpsk7mljngb.jpg The BRM stickers are leftover from my karting days, I just liked the colour and that the letters are very similar to CRM. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/P1...

CRM-250 MK2 - In Australia
The bike was in reasonably good condition when I bought it but I wanted to give it a full rebuild anyway since I was going to register it to ride on the street. Here's the start of the strip down to remove the build up of dirt, grease and grime. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/CRM%20...

Waterpump Tool
During the rebuild of my engine I couldn't find a good way to hold the waterpump shaft to under the impeller. There were also a few stress cracks in the plastic gear that are common. I tried using a screwdriver to jam the gear but wasn't happy that it wouldn't damage the teeth on the gear. What I ca...

Re: New Australian Member
Currently on the east coast in Syd. I sold my Fireblade and downsized to the CRM, since it accelerated like the 'blade. I'm a big fan of two-strokes and their power-to-weight ratio. Not sure how long I will hold on to the CRM for though, it's fantastic but as soon as you get on it turns you into an ...
