Re: Soon to be new owner (with questions)
Welcome. I, personally, don't think you are silly. I cannot think of a better bike to ride on winter roads. I'd pull the top end to check and clean exhaust valve and do a leakdown test to check crank seals etc. Swinging arm bolts can seize in place. Other than that, its kept running pretty much as a...

Re: Mark 1 electrical help pleeeaaassseee.....
Given the "modifications" you have encountered, it is possible the lack of spark is due to previous dodgy wiring. I would advise stripping off any non standard insulation tape and investigate the joints very carefully.
Good luck!

Re: D&D Graphics.
I got a set of AR graphics off them last year and they arrived reasonably quickly and were excellent quality. No complaints from me.

Failing regulator or alternator? You'll meed to bet to to check voltage across the capacitor when running to see the state of the charging circuit.
Good luck!

Re: Blast n paint
I would ask the company who is doing the powder coating for you. Some companies (ie the more expensive motorcycle specialists) will do all this for you. The cheaper (more general purpose companies) don't really care so its up to you to sort it. Powder coating is very hard so if it gets into threads/...

Re: Tarting the old girl up
Thanks! I took early retirement last year so have lots of time but not so much money (a fair bit less than £1000). Thus, the simple answer to your question is a HUGE amount of time but not so much money. I had to buy a few bits new but pretty much all the body work is repaired original and I replate...

Clutch drag
Dear all, I've just returned from a very enjoyable trip to the Isle of Man. I did about 400 miles on the AR which was mostly off road and the newly rebuilt engine ran flawlessly apart from clutch drag. It was fine with a cold engine but when hot it dragged more and more to the point that I could sta...

Re: Tarting the old girl up
Well after a final flurry of activity the CRM250AR is finally done. Just need to get it MOT'd to be legal. A couple of trips around the block revealed a 2t oil leak (level warning switch) and an antifreeze leak - both now sorted. Even that short run on a freshly rebuilt engine shows how much better ...

Re: crm 250 ar power valve with chinese pgm
That pretty much does what mine does when I rev at idle (original ECU). All seems to be moving smoothly in your video. It is really important that the valve moves very freely or it will overload the system and burn the ECU out. To see if all is well then it will be best to road test as the ecu "know...

Re: Tarting the old girl up
Well after a flurry of activity its pretty much done apart from dealing with the battered plastics and a quick tank respray. I rigged up a temporary fuel tank and it fired up 3rd kick and runs lovely. Best of all it now restarts easily which it certainly never used to do so I am pleased. There is pl...

Re: Tarting the old girl up
Thanks! I spent a lot of time on the wiring as there were a number of botches and frayed sections to repair and getting it routed correctly was not easy. In my experience a fair number of breakdowns are caused by wiring so worth getting it right! I have stainless steel frame protector plates for bot...
