very good point that about the screwdrivers, if a bit tight and starting to chew then stop and find a better fitting one. Impact drivers with little force often get carb screws off with no damage to the screw.

Hi russell, with my MK2.2 i had no problems in stripping the carb and reasembly, chances are you wont see anything wrong but i sugest getting a bowl of coca cola and leaving the lot in it for about 6 hours, then blowing carb cleaner through all the passageways and airways to remove any crud that the...

I had a cover on my MK2 and got 5000 from a set, my AR with no cover shafted a set in just under 2000.
Perhaps the cover stops some of the crud getting in

Isn't the Leisuretrail silencer a DEP with a sticker on it ?? i have one on my AR C/W Chrome Dep front, they are pretty good although some seem to rust quicker than others. 8)

I am about to grease me nipples on my swingarm and headstock. Simply remove the swingarm and drill a small pilot hole in the middle, and tap in a thread and insert a nipple. Christ - don't ditch it. worst case scenario will be another topend rebuild which is not a problem. pistons are £100 and DONT BUY PATTERN PARTS. a rebore if needed will be less than that so should be no more than £300 tops.
