Re: inner tube

Rim locks are matched to the width of the wheel rim.
The front is 1.6
The Rear 2.15
Not that expensive if in doubt buy a new one.

Re: inner tube

It is important not to overtighten the rim lock, using 2 fingers on the spanner was the recommendation that sticks in my mind. Too much and it starts to pull the bolt off the clamp. Good luck as punctures are a pain in the arse and happen like buses. 2 come along together and thankfully in this case...

Re: inner tube

I've run my rear tyre down to 7PSI when running trusty C02's on wet Devon rock. That was on a 450berg trying to rip it off. Think your issue is likely to be that you have had a puncture then the tyre has spun causing the valve to rip out or a faulty rim lock. I have drilled my valve holes out to 11m...

Re: inner tube

2 things that might have happened. You had a puncture the tyre went flat. The tyre then span on the rim ripping the valve stem free from the tube. The rim lock will not stop a completely flat tyre spinning. The other reason is that rim lock was not holding the tyre. This might be because it is damag...

Re: sweet sweaty sundays...

Good stuff. Brakes squealing? Do you have sintered pads fitted? My brakes squeal when the ground has been dry for a time and I use EBC Gold sintered pads. If you rarely ride in deep mud it may be worth using a different compound. I tried the EBC red enduro pads but they only lasted one ride before t...

Re: A dark secret!!

Sooo cynical you lot. Yes, I LOVE my 2 strokes- always will (hell, I owned a YZ250, X7 and an RD350 in my time!). However, until they re-incarnate the wonderful and bonkers bikes like the CR500 - which they won't, then we are at the mercy of the manufacturers with their silly aluminium-framed, poll...

Re: TRF(trail riders fellowship)

I might head back to the UK for a break this year - I have an international license - ( or my Hong Kong one is valid it seems - ) unfortunately my local ( East midlands ) doesnt have an email contact.. Re: anyone tried them ?

I have used army gortex, wrist length, leather gloves for some time. However a quick check on e bay did not show any. They tend to be very waterproof and warm enough for trail riding. This time of year I start off wearing them then change to a thin mx pair as body temp starts to rise on a few hard tr...

Re: Ride out Derbyshire March 3rd / 4th

Do you know any good (free) parking spots to park up for the day that we can meet at?
I will be travelling in from the Stoke direction.

Good job the ramblers love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning ;)

Re: Ride out Derbyshire March 3rd / 4th

If it is the Peaks then I can make it. I may also be able to tempt another CRM rider out if you make it the Sunday.
Where would you be planning to meet? Cat and Fiddle sort of area is easy for me to get to but its your shout.

Anymore for a forum smokeout.

Slipping Kickstart

Anyone found the answer to why the kickstart starts to slip yet? I know that I have previously compared two kickstart mechanisms , one that worked fine and one that slipped in cold weather and could not see any obvious reason for the difference. During the last ride out mine started to slip again so...

Re: MK2 balance shaft - what to do?

If you get the part no. you can get a price here then check with LT as they can be cheaper. http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/by-part-number/ I fitted a new shaft and bearings to mine for the chatter marks and noise to come back less than 2000 miles later. Don't know what caused it, I am sure...
