Re: Where to buy stiffer springs for from forks MK2
Adding oil makes for harder bottoming or even hydraulic lock if using lots of travel.
The seals on my AR blew shortly after I got it. The PO said he had just replaced them. When I tore the forks down I could find nothing wrong. The job had been done well and the seal li...

Re: Front fork leg collapse
IMO,the internal damper rod has un-threaded itself from the cap, others? Mike
I would agree with this. I'm not so familiar with USD forks and when I rebuilt my legs just recently I initially forgot to bolt up the damper rod to the top cap on one side. End result wa...

Re: help please
I've never used the guy but 'Ferret' has got a good reputation in the Vintage jap crowd and he'll come out to you. He shouldn't be troubled too much as the CRM uses standard connectors etc.

Re: help please
The only trouble with the Leisure Trail manual is that there is no colours marked on it (or at least in my AR version)! I spent ages repairing my wiring and mine hadn't been hacked about too much. If yours has been butchered then bank on spending a fair while sorting it out. As stated below you just...

Nice to know I'm not the only sufferer! Can you notice the noise from yours when running? Very irritating on mine!!

Odd noise - Lumps in tube
I had an odd noise from the bike that turned out to have an unusual cause. After a bit of investigation I narrowed it down to a clear rattle from the front tyre when spinning it. Once the tyre was off the cause is clear! The inner tube has three or so hardish lumps inside that are rattling around in...

Re: AR clutch switch
Thanks for the offer but I managed OK. The 'All Balls' bearings were certainly a tighter fit on the stem than I would consider necessary!! In constrast, the old bearings dropped off with a light tap. The bearings in there were well shot and judging from the general damage were clearly not the origin...

Re: AR clutch switch
Hi Shaun, Thanks for that as it sounds like I have nothing to worry about re the clutch switch. I'm fine at the moment and work is quiet so I have found myself with some extra spare time. Thus, one of my aims (apart from a backlog of decorating etc) is to get the CRM working as Honda intended. The b...

AR clutch switch
Hi, I've just been repairing the wiring behind the headlight to get rid of an indicator fault. Basically the original indicator relay has been removed and the wiring modified for a 2-wire flasher. It was a terrible job and two of the connectors fell apart when I pulled the insulation tape off. All i...

Re: unleaded or super unleaded??
Its certainly worth using for highly tuned 2 strokes as it may not make more power but as Knackered says it reduces the resistance to pre-ignition and gives you a margin of safety. I had a piston eaten away with detonation on my RG a few years back that caused a seize. I never did find a cause but I...

Re: Internal Oil pump leak?
Other 2 strokes (eg my RG500) have check valves in the carb bodies that can leak and can cause oil build-up in the engine/carb float. It is possible that the check valve in your oil pump is failing but the symptom will be clouds of very thick smoke on startup and for the first few miles (particularl...

Re: Intermittent Spark!
I don't know about the pickups on a CRM but these rarely fail on other bikes (especially two at the same time). I would double check the wiring, the air-gaps (missing shims?) and make sure there is no rubbish stuck to them or the flywheel. If it worked before the rebuild it is likely something simpl...

Re: crm250 from south in norway.
I have to agree that 3 cylinder 2 strokes make the best 2 stroke noise (must be the 120 degree cranks). I have never ridden an H2 but my old Suzuki GT750 made a similar 'wail' and was much nicer sounding than the RG. However, it was very heavy and felt so horrible after I got used to the RG! You mus...

Re: crm250 from south in norway.
I kept mine at 500cc and stock looking so I can keep it on classic insurance. I've also not had mine of a dyno but I know of others that get about that with a similar level of tune. I'm looking forward to hearing it 'crackle' again in the Spring. Its not bad when a 25-year old bike can still get the...
