I upped the pilot jet to a 50 as generally recommended. Any recomendations on the main jet. It has a Pro Circuit expansion chamber and I had the bike at full throttle. Like I said in the other post it is possible the carb might not have been fitted fully back in the manifold (I honestly don't know) ...

The damage is right in line with the exhaust port /power valve.
Both rings are pined to the piston by the damage.
Does £65 for a piston seem right?

How did the ride go? I'm all set for Sunday. Just fitted a new tyre to the KLX and a new gear lever. (No chance now of the smoker being ready :( )The old lever was absolutely worn and I had to keep stopping to retighten it. It's hedge cutting time here so make sure you have a spare tube. I'm hoping ...

Little end bearing

How do you check for wear in the little end bearing? Up and down it seems of but allows a fair bit of play when twisting/side to side Here is a pic of the piston that I have pulled out :( Shame really as there seemed to be very little wear in the bore. There's a big score now. http://i65.photobucket...

Two circlips in fact :o . I'm just about to fit a new chain so I'll order a sprocket and retainer from LT along with the clips for the sump guard.
Best check the oil before I do any more riding :)
Thanks

How to fasten on the sump guard?

Sorry to be a pain again with the questions but when I bought this bike the sump guard (I think it is the Leisure trail one) was fastened onto the bike with cable ties.
How are your sump guards fastened on?

How is the Front Sprocket held on?

The front sprocket on my Mk3 is held on by circlips but the Leisure Trail manual shows it screwed to a bracket.

Ok. 4th should be Ok .I start nights on that night , usually at 10, which is not a problem. The snag is that we have been starting at 7 but I am hoping that this has now stopped. Once I can confirm that either it will be a 10PM start or that my colleague can cover an early start I will sort out some...

Leisure and trail advised that the B8EVG was the one to go for if I am not racing. I ride green lanes so seldom get to full throttle
 So far so good easy to restart when hot or cold. 8)

Welding on a Frame

Is it wise to disconnect any electrics before carrying out any welding.
I've only welded bikes with batteries before where disconnecting the battery earth lead was enough. Now I've got no battery I'm a bit puzzled :?
Thanks
