I'm not 100% but I think they were 650R.

I fitted XR650 wheels. The front goes on to Mk2 and above without any problems the back needs new spacers including the internal one for the hub (the XR650 is 20mm spindle the CRM is 17mm). I think you can get away with one standard bearing but the other needs to be turned to fit.

It's as easy as you make it. I ground mine down to the frame and glued/welded a plate over the hole. You will need to drain and thoroughly wash out the oil tank to do this. Another way would be to glue a cap over the untouched end or but a bung in it.

The sensor isn't really necessary as on the Mk1 & 2 you have an oil level sight tube. I blanked mine off as they commonly leak and are basically a pain.

Mk2 and 3 are the same the mk1 will fit but there is a difference in the connection at the drive end.

Re crankshaft - I would say not a chance. There are people who will recondition them. Speak to Leisure Trail and they will tell you more. I doubt you will be able to find a new inlet rubber. The inlet to the oil pump connection is on the underside of the oil storage system is under the tank. The output pipe is connected to the oil input pipe just before the reed block. The 'oil storage system' has quite complicated pipe work if there is none of it present.

I must say - I've done work on a lot of CRMs and must say that when I've taken out sparkplugs to check for a visible spark I've very rarely succeeded in seeing a spark even when there must have been one to see. I'm finding the same with MTXs recently.

All head bearings are the same.

I've had my swing arm powder coated silver and the linkages. Is great but you need to a good job of cleaning out all the bearing faces.
