did the exact same thing here............ended up fitting a mk2.2

plasti dip i have never tried...but let me know how it goes. they used to let repair and make bike parts in school many many years ago.....and let us plastic coat bits too. if they weren't up to scratch we had to remake them over until they were, even though we were doing i our lunch breaks.lol don'...

same ones i got last year and by the sound of of it same issues although minor.
a quick whiz on the grinder and with dremel got them fitting nice and flat.
agrees re the paint. i just stripped them soon afterwards as started to surface rust and gave them a rattle tin finish..so far so good.

If the groove that the seal sits in is corroded it will have the effect of making the internal diameter of the seal smaller and more difficult for the piston to pass through. On a different bike I had to grind the width of a small flat screw driver down so that it would fit into the seal groove. I ...
