Re: Tarting the old girl up
I had another go and the photos worked this time though I did have to resize first. I rebuilt the (road) wheels with new stainless spokes. However, I need to do some more Zinc plating and then I can put wheels back. I think I will use my existing fork legs for now even though the anodising on one is...

Re: Tarting the old girl up
Things are proceeding nicely. The engine is now rebuilt and installed. Best of all I get a spark when its spun over which is always a big relief with an AR as there is so much that can go wrong. My engine turned out to be in great condition apart from the scored bore and piston. I didn't strip the b...

Re: newbie with need of a help
Hi Adam, If the sensor and feed from sensor to ECU is fine (have you checked continuity at the actual ECU plug?) then it must be one of the following; 1. Faulty ECU 2. Faulty wire from ECU to control box 3. Faulty Control box or associated wiring 4. Faulty wire from control box to speedo housing In ...

Re: newbie with need of a help
Welcome! Unfortunately, that is quite a complex bit of wiring to trouble shoot. Are you handy with the multimeter? The output from the temp sender goes to the main ECU which then sends a signal to the "control box" when it thinks the temperature is too high. The control box then converts the signal ...

Re: Virgin !!!
Welcome! A pic would be nice if you can manage to add one. My AR is coming together after a full rebuild and that too will end up "almost" too good to use. However, bikes don't belong in museums so its great you intend to use it.

Re: Spoke compatability
I can now confirm that the rear spokes fit with the same proviso ie you need to open out the holes in the rim with a 7.5 mm drill bit.

Re: Spoke compatability
I can now confirm that the XR front spokes sets are not 100% compatible BUT will fit the CRM if you enlarge the holes in the rim by 0.5mm. The original holes in the hub are fine so I guess the hubs are identical with the XR range. I'll now buy a set of rear spokes and report back in a week or two. D...

Re: Spoke compatability
OK, thanks. I think I will buy a set and if they don't fit then just take a hit on the postage to return them. I'm sure the head angles will be right but a few mm out on length would be bad.

Spoke compatability
I have two sets of standard wheels for my CRM: one for knobblies and the other for more road use. I need to respoke the "road" set so am wondering if XR250 R/XR400 R spokes are the same? The wheels certainly look very similar and there are sets of stainless spokes on ebay for the XR250/400R for quit...

The wiring is all sorted and working. The badly damaged airbox has been repaired and now looks ok. The carb has bee...

Re: New Member Alert - Nick from Iron & Rebels
Wow, thats a very cheap CRM! Its certainly got lots of "patina". I would guess its a MK2 but I'm certainly no expert. Welcome to the forum and good luck getting it sorted.

Side stand switch
I know that many of you have bypassed the side stand switches but I have had no trouble with mine. However, when checking it out I noticed the housing had cracked so I wondered about repairing to stop any water getting in. The switches are actually very good quality with two seals to keep them worki...

AR wiring notes
Given the lack of wiring colours on the Leisure Trail manual and the relatively poor resolution of the available scans of the official Honda manual, I made some notes for myself. Hopefully will be use to others as well. Keith The CRM250 uses a large capacitor instead of a battery. Thus, DC is only g...
