Re: front brake was pants - is now super stiff!!!
Fishy- I have never seen that wierd metal tube attachment underneath the front brake before, it looks bent out of shape and a real target for being smacked with debris off the road/trail and is too thin, so will add more pressure to pulling the brake efficiently...the brake line should attach to the...

Re: quick snap of my CRM
A dodgy old prostitute might look good in the dark, especially after a few pints Fishy!!
Lets see her in the daylight, without you flashing past trying to prove you can do a wheelie without falling off again!!

Re: A dark secret!!
Sooo cynical you lot. Yes, I LOVE my 2 strokes- always will (hell, I owned a YZ250, X7 and an RD350 in my time!). However, until they re-incarnate the wonderful and bonkers bikes like the CR500 - which they won't, then we are at the mercy of the manufacturers with their silly aluminium-framed, pollu...

Re: are the CRM's front brakes pants or is it mine?
Seals should be OK, unless perished and then you will be losing fluid. Best thing- new discs (I paid about 30 dollars each disc), new pads (15 dollars each) then bleed the system and new fluid- 5 dollars and 1/2 hour time. Mind you, mine were much better, but I still can't pull a 'stoppie' on mine. ...

A dark secret!!
Well, I had a few problems with the old girl last week- only giving 1/2 power again, not revving out fully, now making a new rattle from the gearbox- so she is up on the ramp again awaiting a damned good tinkering. Bugger. My mate (madly) lent me his 2011 YZF250 for 2 days to 'try it out'- (he owns ...

Re: MK2 wont tick over
Tang height is 16mm from top of float to carb body- just when it touches the valve pin to stop the petrol flow. Check the tickover needle for cronk blocking it and open the air/mixture screw 1 1/4 turns from fully closed. Make sure petrol is flowing into the float chamber when reconnected by opening...

I like it- cheap and effective. The headlamp on the Mk3 is just cronk, but luckily I do very little dark riding.
You could always make them blue and flash them on and off on the way to hospital if you had a fall!!

Re: are the CRM's front brakes pants or is it mine?
The grooves in the metal disc and ridge on the edge where the pads rub tells me it needs changed- I did both of mine last month and put cintered pads on too- they are much better. The pads nowadays are almost tougher than the discs themselves, so wear them away after a year or so of heavy use...Sayi...

Re: are the CRM's front brakes pants or is it mine?
Yeah- seen those foldy jobs, but not sure how useful they are. The 'under the bars' ones look good, but are just as bad for ripping your kneecaps off. I just prefer no mirrors for trailing- they just catch too much brush and are painful when you fall on them. I had a friend break multiple ribs on hi...

Really trying to find a chrome or gold-linked chain to fit my 14-51 tooth sprockets- don't mind what make, but would prefer o-ring if possible. Anyone know possible suppliers??
