I'm not 100% but I think they were 650R.

Re: 17" road wheels
I fitted XR650 wheels. The front goes on to Mk2 and above without any problems the back needs new spacers including the internal one for the hub (the XR650 is 20mm spindle the CRM is 17mm). I think you can get away with one standard bearing but the other needs to be turned to fit.

Re: oil sensor part number - help please
It's as easy as you make it. I ground mine down to the frame and glued/welded a plate over the hole. You will need to drain and thoroughly wash out the oil tank to do this. Another way would be to glue a cap over the untouched end or but a bung in it.

Re: oil sensor part number - help please
The sensor isn't really necessary as on the Mk1 & 2 you have an oil level sight tube. I blanked mine off as they commonly leak and are basically a pain.

Re: First post/ I’m junior
Re crankshaft - I would say not a chance. There are people who will recondition them. Speak to Leisure Trail and they will tell you more. I doubt you will be able to find a new inlet rubber. LT might have one??? Any from Mk1, mk2 or Mk3 will fit. Ebay may have one or Rinkya?? Mk3 - https://www.ebay....

Re: Model value and reliability
Thanks, Is there an upgrade for the mk2 reg/rec and ecu? I used to own a firestorm and the owners were always swapping reg/recs for mosfet / r1 models as well as the manual cct conversion. I guess because I'm planning to use mine for both commuting during the week and green laning on a weekend I wo...

Re: First post/ I’m junior
The inlet to the oil pump connection is on the underside of the oil storage system is under the tank. The output pipe is connected to the oil input pipe just before the reed block. The 'oil storage system' has quite complicated pipe work if there is none of it present.

Re: Model value and reliability
Price depends very much on condition. In terms of reliability - Mk1 is by far the most reliable, Mk3 is next, Mk2s are less reliable and ARs are the least reliable. Most of the significant model related problems relate to ECUs failing and this is most often due to Reg/Recs failing. The ARs have a he...

Re: First post/ I’m junior
That's the carb heating system. If you're in the UK it has no use and most owners take them off.

Re: Mark 1 electrical help pleeeaaassseee.....
I must say - I've done work on a lot of CRMs and must say that when I've taken out sparkplugs to check for a visible spark I've very rarely succeeded in seeing a spark even when there must have been one to see. I'm finding the same with MTXs recently.

Re: MK1 complete rebuild in progress - have lots of questions
Crank seals are generally available I believe - you don't need OEM. I thought LT required you to send in your crank so they could get a contractor to do the work required to replace the rod? I have a set of XR250 forks that are a direct swap. Just fit and forget swap for the original CRM ones. They ...

Unless you are sitting on spares then sell as is. EVERY refurb costs more than you get back.

Re: Mk3 Refresh
All head bearings are the same.
I've had my swing arm powder coated silver and the linkages. Is great but you need to a good job of cleaning out all the bearing faces.
