Re: Clutch sticking

have you tried push starting it yet? regardless of whether the clutch it stuch, you should be able to push start it. push it in neutral as fast as you can, jump on bike, then bounce down on seat and kick into first gear at the same time. if it wont fire then this means its elec issue, if it fires up...

Re: aftermarket gas caps

I think they might be the same actually. I looked up the 05-08 XR400 motard which is available in japan and australia (dunno bout the UK) and it seems to have a steel tank and a gas cap that looks just like the CRM's what do you think now? http://motoaus.com/images/stories/honda2008/xr400-sm-dash.jp...

can anyone confirm that honda XR gascaps fit a CRM250AR? the Zeta ebay listing states that they are the same zeta part number http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gas-Cap-CRM50-CRM80-CRM250R-CRM-50-80-250-250R-250AR-/330394759403?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ced0ff0eb#ht_6598wt_968 I had to dest...

Re: Clutch sticking

what oil are you running and how old is it? push start the bike so its running and in gear. ride it around untill its up to temp and then while riding it, pull the clutch in and blip the throttle untill the clutch frees up. failing that, it shouldnt take you more than 30 minutes to completely strip,...

Re: crm 250? road bike

If you wanted to put the CRM on the road you should keep it in the stock frame. Theres not much point removing a 55-60hp 250cc twin cylinder 250 to install a 30hp CRM motor. the crm is good at all road duties accept for long freeway trips, I never liked it on the freeway/motorway, it didnt like it a...

cancel that optimism, the nikasil has flaked off the bored in one tiny section so It will need re-plating.

should have it up and running over winter.

Im thinking that due to the really good performance, I might even try and enter it in the 250 proddy racing class rather than supermoto.

Re: CRM250SMR (using CR250/YZ490/KTM250SX internals)

Got 40 minutes of tracktime yesterday before I destroyed a piston ;( good news is that the bike pulls like a freight train even without the PV operating, its pulls well on the corner exits and puts 600 sports bikes to shame untill the pass me half way down the straights. but I stupidly got the power...

Re: CRM250SMR (using CR250/YZ490/KTM250SX internals)

While prepping the CRM for the track next friday I found time to start brainstorming the next project. Somewhere along the way I forgot what brainstorming was and began buying parts including a complete donor motor. The project will be an attempt to make a GP spec big bore (300-400cc) disc valve sin...

Re: CRM250SMR (using CR250/YZ490/KTM250SX internals) WITH PICS

Just did a full top end teardown after todays ride. few things to note, all looks good apart from some polished sections on the piston which will need cross hatching with a diamond file. Now that Iv seen that there are high spots, I will need to continually monitor the piston. Top end teardowns will...

Re: CRM250SMR (using CR250/YZ490/KTM250SX internals) WITH PICS

testing from the weekend :) went pretty well, and top end is very strong however the mid range is lacking big time due to the PV servo not working and the needle clip being too low making it too rich. but other than that it was very very fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgFWm9S_BDs [youtube]http:...

Re: CRM250SMR (using CR250/YZ490/KTM250SX internals) WITH PICS

It all seems to be going together rather seamlessly, I found it interesting that the hardest part was the planning, the rest was just hurting my bank balance and bolting stuff on the bike. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i92/Sabotage_street/f76d853a.jpg and the 5mm spacer plate needed. http://i70....

Re: CRM250SMR (using CR250/YZ490/KTM250SX internals) WITH PICS

I than began the machining and porting of the cylinder with MR Two Stroke Institute while working on the KTMito380 project with him http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i92/Sabotage_street/50dc9ba6.jpg The shock was rebuilt by a friend and shipped back to me, this was rebuilt to match the marzocchi for...
