Re: The curse of the spinning damper
I think you can make a tool out of i bit of tube to lock these, have a google, I'm sure you will find the answer. I normal loosen this bolt while the fork is still on the bike. You can then apply a downward force to the shock and get it loose. I've never had a problem tightening them, but the same m...

Re: New owner (With a couple of questions!)
Im in Norfolk too. I live in thetford, there are quite a few lanes around this way, although being very flat they aren't the most exciting.Ekul250 wrote: ↑06 May 2021, 19:12Not much green-laning up here in Norfolk though, might try out that one next to Acle.

Re: New owner (With a couple of questions!)
Sorry looks like the FMF is NLA. I'm not sure about a mk1/2 fitting a mk3. Maybe a few photos of what you have at the moment might help with the fitting. A call to LT won't do any harm. Not sure I would want that used DEPP pipe for £150 from ebay, but if that's all that is available and you are in a...

Re: Mk3 Refresh
This turned out to be an electrical problem in the end. I sprayed a couple of plugs with contact cleaner and it seems to have fixed it, for now.

Re: New owner (With a couple of questions!)
I tried to buy a depp pipe for my mk3 a couple of years ago, to match the depp end can that was already fitted, but they where no longer available. I ended up getting a FMF pipe in the end and fitted it to the Depp end can with no problems. The bike definitely felt a little crisper off the throttle ...

Re: Mk3 Refresh
I gave the carb a quick clean out today, but no difference. I'm pretty sure its a fueling problem, the bike tries to start but won't. If I do get it started it, I have to rev it to keep it going other wise it will stall, even then it runs rough and it difficult to stop it stalling. I assume the pilo...

Re: Mk3 Refresh
https://i.ibb.co/N3b0jRY/DSC-0278-1.jpg Unfortunately, shortly after taking this photo the bike broke down on me. Excluding punctures, it has only ever stopped working once and that was through some very deep river crossings in Wales, which it did restart from eventually. It wouldn't run on idle an...

Re: Mk3 Refresh
The new shock turned up on Tuesday. It looks nicely made. Its been set up at the factory with the setting I asked for and the settings are written in the manual so it gives you a good base line to go back to once I start to fine tune it (mess it up) https://i.ibb.co/tPCmT4X/DSC-0266-1.jpg https://i....

Re: Mugen Exhaust on Ebay
I didn't notice it was Leisure Trail. I didn't realise they sold parts on Ebay. Just looking through some of there other bit and they seem to have some optimistic pricing on some parts, £50 starting bid on a knackered seat, £195 used rear shock and £25 for a used rear brake lever. Although its rare ...

Mugen Exhaust on Ebay
I have no interest in buying this, but just wondering what peoples thoughts are on it, is it genuine and is it worth having over say the FMF pipe?

Re: Mk3 Refresh
After my ride out on Sunday, I've realised what Ive always known, the rear shock is woefully under sprung for my weight. So in a rash decision this afternoon, I've ordered the Wilbers rear shock. Its a lot of money, but I really want to keep this bike and not get seduced by a newer model. Its got a ...

Re: Mk3 Refresh
I filled the bike up with fluids today. Fired on the 3rd or 4th kick. I bled the 2T pump and adjusted the power valve. I'm making some new screw, which attach the side panels to the tank. The old ones are a bit rusty and the heads have been damaged in the past. I'm going to make them with bigger hea...
