Re: CRM250 with clean carb but still won't start
What oil are you using? I had issues with plugs giving up when running fully synthetic.

Re: CRM250 with clean carb but still won't start
If the reeds are damaged (that's what's between the carbs and the engine) then that can make it hard to start.

Re: Hi peeps
Welcome to the site. The standard AR seat height is 895mm according to the info here: http://www.honda.co.jp/factbook/motor/CRM250AR/199701/crm97-015.html So the AR is fractionally taller than the others. The CR forks are longer but I'm not sure by how much. Dropping the forks through the yokes will...
Re: no spark
Okay, looking at the LT wiring diagram with a magnifying glass and asking wifey to translate from Japanese... Kill switch connects to: black (it's a 12v feed switched by the ignition) black/white (goes to CDI which works when it gets 12v) Brake Light Switch connects to: black (12v feed - shared with...

Re: fuel cap
Found the cap. It was an MTX one and is knackered. It's got road rash on it and the vent pipe is very loose. Looks like it's off a bike that's been somersaulted. However, I can now confirm that an MTX fuel cap will fit perfectly.
Re: fuel cap
I may have a suitable non-locking fuel cap with a breather in my garage. I'll have a look over the next day or two.

For original ones, you can get them from LeisureTrail - http://www.leisuretrail.co.uk/ but they are not cheap.
Good choice of bike - and don't let anyone tell you otherwise :)

Re: Converting to Premix
As you open the throttle, if the marks line up and it overshoots by 2mm, that's too much oil. If it doesn't line up at any point, and stops 2mm before it lines up, that's not enough oil.

Re: Balance shaft removal
I thought 3bhp would be a more likely figure. It's not just the bearing losses, it's a counterweight flailing around inside the case and also gear friction losses where it meshes on the primary drive gear (I presume that's where it's driven anyway).

Re: Balance shaft removal
One of my friends did this to his AR a few years ago when he had one. He did the work himself so it just cost time, gaskets and consumables. This is what he said about it: The mod's worth around 5 bhp and the bike feels noticeably quicker and more responsive - but it is vibey. The vibes aren't too b...

Just sent you an AR wiring diagram with colours (it's in black and white but has the abbreviations on it).
