Re: Help with crankcase bearings
2 stroke, Not being funny or anything, but it may be helpful next time if you take photos during dismantling, it helps when later reassembling, and for anybody else who has a problem. Yes, oil sealed from water, hi pressure to low pressure. Keep us posted how it's going.......and how much it's costi...

I used to own a piston ring uncompressor, but seem to have lost mine years ago
It used to be in the box where we kept the long waits.

Re: AR QUINS COMPLETED
Don't look at the other photos on photobucket or you will start drooling, and wondering how much it actually cost to produce the bike.
How much..............................?

Re: Ar problems
Jamesb, Welcome, you are on the right site. The full factory AR manual is 318 pages in total, and includes photos on nearly every page so too big to email. I have it in JPEG format so is a large file and would have to go onto a USB stick, but its great for zooming in on pages for details views. £10 ...

Re: Balance shaft replacement (AR)
Washer out is out, and looks like it was out when fitted. When out is in, the inner should be on the outside and vice versa, apart from when the in is out then the reverse applies, unless you are viewing from the left and rotating counterclockwise ;) . A lathe will be ok at home, but ultimately you ...

Re: Piston differences
Hey, its not just you that may have purchased something other than what you wanted. Yesterday I saw a nice T shirt on the internet that I liked, so I clicked on it and ordered 4, then I changed my mind and went back a page and ordered only 1 as I was not sure about the shape. How surprised was I whe...

Re: AR QUINS COMPLETED
Just take the oil pump cover down to local car paint suppliers and they will match it up and supply aerosols for you. I had a few cans made up but have never used them, I like to see the worn paint, its part of the bike. Once you start painting the engine it looks a bit Tarty and will look worse whe...

Re: Balance shaft replacement (AR)
Excellent, I am a toolmaker by trade but due to changes in the industry I retrained into a different trade years ago Wish I had access to a machine shop, even the smell of a machine shop is like engineering perfume to me. Call me anal but I even watch machining videos on youtube to keep up with what...

Re: Piston and rings
I recommend stripping the bike down, full crank rebuild and a new seat cover with matching handlebar grips.
Stop peeking and keep it going.
The bike will let you know when something is up, just keep using good oil.
12,000 miles, its just run in.
