If you are not sure where to ride I can recommend joining the TRF. Have a look for a group local to you and go along to a meeting.

Re: Balancer shaft
Yes I have done this but left the shaft in just replacing the gear with a spacer. This means that the hole does not need to be sealed and a very quick and easy job to try it. If you don't like it just refit the gear. The bike vibrates quite a bit more when it is started cold but the vibes get less o...

Re: the problems with Leisure Trail
I've always had good service and advice from Leisuretrail. They may not always be the cheapest but they are not the dearest either and usually about right. There advice usually means that I spend less with them than I had been expecting Many companies have a policy of only sending goods to the billi...

Re: Footpegs
These are very similar to the ones I have fitted to my PIG and CRM.
Note they need to come from China so will take a couple of weeks.

Re: Few querys on mk3
Motorcycle engine oil would be ok in the gearbox but if the last owner has put modern car engine oil in then that could be your problem. You could try draining it off and refilling with ATF and hope it will stop slipping otherwise just get some new plates and fit them

Re: Long Distance Trials.
Good video really enjoyed watching it.
Lately I've mainly been doing trials myself on a 1980 twinshock Fantic or modern stuff on a Gas gas.
Some of those sections looked very tight for bigger bikes.

Re: My new (to me) MK3
I have not done much trail riding this year as I am mainly doing twinshock trials and really enjoying it. The plan is to eventually do both but feel I need to spend a bit of time concentrating on trials alone as I have never done it before. The CRM was going to get a ground up rebuild as it has been...

Re: Hello.......again
Nice to see you back. Good luck with the swinging arm pin they can be as solid as if they are welded. Fallenmikethe bike had a good idea of drilling a hole through the back of the engine casing where the pin passes through and filling it with penetrating oil. This is where mine was stuck having corr...

Re: Cleaning the exhaust
Yes I was a bit wary of petrol but gave it a go. Built a bonfire, poured a bit of petrol in the chamber and silencer swilling it around then threw the pipes into the fire. I could see flames coming out of the ends but nothing drastic. Once they were done and cooled I used a wire brush in a drill to ...

Re: Cleaning the exhaust
What the trials lads are doing is pouring a bit of petrol in and setting it on fire I would use a very long match ha ha I have just used this paint to spray the exhaust on a Fantic I have been rebuilding. It sprayed really well. Loads of passes left 10 min then repeated. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fa...
