locally it appears derbyshire county council would rather close a lane and spend money on the lawsuit than do any maintainance of the lanes ,we even have a T.R.O at the moment where the landowner has done the repairs as DCC wont all credit to the landowner

That needs advertising, perhaps a letter to the standards committee, and also the press.
Stand it up against the figures for Footpaths and Bridleways, and canals, and river banks, parks,AND all the right to roam areas commons, heaths, forest, woods.
We have 100KMs of Byways left in Surrey, 2220 Ks, of Footpaths, 1000Ks Bridleways, feck knows how many square miles of R2R areas, and then the knobs say, "were Ramblers, and want to walk quietly" fair play, "well go and walk on some fecking paths then and get of the roads"

if you mean the uucr past minnglow hill, I think it is to let the land settle which is good practice
