Lil to the rescue

Post by fallenmikethebike » 27 Jan 2013, 16:28

Our Surrey TRF had local Lane clearance day today. We had a good turnout of about a dozen riders.
AND, how about this, I was made the " Fire Monitor" :o  FFS.  , The last time I was in charge of a fire was back when I was working in the Sahara Forest, and that didn't work out to well ;) .
Well the action started quite well when the cutting face was near the fire, and they overwhelmed me with cuttings, but as they got further away I was starting to run out of ammunition for the fire, and they were all complaining about how far they had to carry the stuff. Their little faces lit up brighter than my fire when I lassoed a big pile of cuttings and dragged them to the fire using my little mule Lil  The lane also looked liked we had swept it as well, bonus.
Not so good was seeing a fellow biker prostrate on the ground having had a car pull out right in front of him by some divvy driver. He looked to be moving but in significant pain, mend soon.
