Cool stuff, started off on Ridgeway lane at the ufton end? Looks like a good mix of bikes too! Looks like you snuck onto the old railway line as well! I'm on a TTR 250, I live in the area, Leamington, I'd be up for a ride out if you wanted?

not to sure mate to be honest but yes its the old fosse way railroad allways good for a little tear brings you onto the southam road that leads to napton quarry

Well, the TTR is having a bit of a refurb now but I just got my hands on a 1994 Mk3 CRM

I don't know anywhere to go really, I've got a couple of legal lanes I know of in the area but nowhere where I'm brave enough to just sneak into without fear of getting caught. Just give us a message on here if you want to sort something out, I'm up for most weekends out, must get a new tyre on the back at some point though...

If you are not sure where to ride I can recommend joining the TRF. Have a look for a group local to you and go along to a meeting.

TRF suck unless you got to their meetings and get out on their rideouts. I am not renewing membership with them as its like a secret handshake club if you cant make the monthly meetings.

Its a shame that yours has been a bad experience. Mine has been 100% positive from when I joined in 2006.
I have got to my local meetings when I could and been led and led many great trail rides.
No need for secret handshakes just a willingness to meet people at the meetings and rides out although this is not entirely necessary with internet access and forums.
No CRM's on this TRF ride although there were a couple of CRM owners.

My experience over 10 years has been really positive to the point that I ended up as chairman and then Rights of Way officer for my group.

It's a shame you can't get involved with your local group as I know one of the group members is a very experienced RoW guru, a local police Sargent, an ex CRM owner and a current TTR owner who knows the local area but also will take members on trips to Devon, Wales, and further afield, but you need to try get to know your local group and get to know these people yourself. If you can get to a TRF meeting ask around for a guy known as Bozzy.

Give the trf another chance, you won't regret it.

That's the way I feel, I tried to get involved but I really struggled. I just felt like I didn't fit in when I went to a meeting, it also feels too organised, I'm not sure what I mean, but I get the impression that nothing is ever just spur of the moment type stuff, and what with our ever-decreasing lanes, from what I gather, there is a lot of red tape and forms need filling in to do stuff.

I much prefer the idea of pay and play sites, just turn up, give a farmer some money, never worry about horses around the corner, land rovers coming the other way. I just feel that, my TTR and CRM are so good, that there is no challenge if you ride respectively, that could be the naturally flat land though that is Warwickshire, and as such I don't get much pleasure from green laning anymore, unless I am on my Varadero 125 or MT5, with such poor tyres and low power, you have to work the bike to get anywhere.

I know part of the appeal is being out in the country-side, but I'm twenty and like riding briskly, which just isn't a good idea on green lanes. That's just my thoughts on the matter though, take from that what you will

Put that way, you're probably doing the right thing, perhaps try a hare and hounds or enduro too.

A while back me and my mates bumped into them somewhere in the sticks they seemed friendly but we got the impression we weren't wanted after a bit. I put this down to different riding styles id just disconnected the balance shaft and added a rad valve and power wing so arguments had to be settled that day
