As per MX really -
Enter the Trail bike class if there is one. Make sure all fluids are sufficient. Good tyres with correct inflation (lower than road use. 14/15 psi front 12/13 back). Lots of pad left on the brakes. Well lubed, good condition chain and sprokets with 13/45 gearing or lower. Check clutch & throttle cables for wear. Check spoke tightness, wheel and suspension bearings and steering head bearings or you won't pass scrutineering.
Take spare fuel in marked containers.
There may be 'special sections' where you are timed otherwise you just have to appear at checkpoints within the set time. H & H is just do as many laps as possible
.
Have fun and go at your own pace

Don't take the mk1 to Camphill is my advice. If you do, take a few tea bags and have a cuppa when it boils up.jamesp*2009 wrote:Hi im thinking of doing the Camphill Hare and Hounds, NREC H+H Challenge ROUND 4. as its close to me. Camphill was my first H&H some 8 years ago. I did it on a KTM 400. It was probably one of the hardest courses I have ridden. There is no let up, it is in a wood with not much room for being overtaken. They also have a big water filled hole (and a chicken run). Suggest you start with a different event

Yes much easier. Perhaps chop the width of the handlebars an inch each side.
try NREC site, the Thorpe event is good, so are the others apart rom Camphill
