My 1st H&H

Last weekend (02/12) I entered my 1st Hare and Hound event at Weavers Down near Petersfield - was my 1st attempt at a H&H and man, what an eye-opener that was..... I don't think we could've asked for worse conditions - it was raining all day with a howling wind - the 7 mile circuit was mud and muck from beginning to end. My brakes are now totally shagged and that was after only 2 laps - I was physically knackered :o I went through places there that I never in my wildest dreams thought would've been possible to go through on a bike. I'd love to know how those guys managed that did 7 - 8 laps? As regards the riding, methinks I have lots to learn to get fast - and to think I thought I'd be half-handy.... Still I didn't finish last and didn't have the slowest lap - which I thought was unreal...... After getting stuck in mud in places where it took 3 of us to get the bike out, falling off about 5 times - that wet sand was horrible to ride through - I have never before been as exhausted as I was afterwards. Still, I'll try again, but hopefully next time in slightly more pleasant conditions :)

Well done Saffie 8) What i've been reading on other forums it was a bit of a bastid, espiecialy the sand eating up the brake pads and the weather conditions :( Never mind mate, put it down to experiance, and i bet you in a week or so, you'l be glad you did it :o :D

Gwyn - definitely glad I did it - don't think it could possibly be any harder than that in future

Stowboy - I'd definitely be up for that. I've just joined the Swindon MCC and am submitting my ACU license application - I want to do Cirencester park next year.

this particular one was at Weavers Down, near Petersfield in Sussex.

Try this website for events around the country...
