CRM250 SM Hill Climber ?.....

Post by bananaextreme » 07 Apr 2008, 15:46

I think it must have been one of those days that I have had far too much time on my hands. As I am now seriously thinking about a set of supermoto wheels for my CRM 250 and doing a couple of hill climbs.

What does anyone think, or have you even had a go ????

Cheers

Its very popular down these parts too. Cpl of mates have done several seasons and the bikes used range from the sublime to the ridiculous!
My mate raced a Cheney framed, tweaked XT600 engined special. Twas a very pretty thing.(Not him, the bike!).
2 stroke crossers are popular, even KX and CR500s. They tend to get lowered and stripped right down to reduce weight, and of course you need some nice grippy tyres.
I reckon a CRM would be fine..and hillclimbing has a great social side as well as being blimmin cheap motorsport!
go to http://www.nhca.co.uk for all you need to know!
tell us if you are gonna have a go, I'll come and watch!

I phoned the Ramblers today, but the bloke on the phone just went on and on....

The story continues......
I have now had all the stuff through from the Hill Climb Association, and it looks great fun. A CRM250 would run in the >250cc competition class. It seems that small two stroke bikes are quite popular as they race well, well that is if I am not the rider of course.
So I am going to complete the application forms and and give it a go.

I may even treat the bike to a new set of graphics.

If anyone else is interested have a look at www.nhca.co.uk

Cheers
